PENGARUH FIRST AID TRAINING IN SCHOOL DENGAN DEMONSTRASI MEDIA VIDEO PADA PENGETAHUAN DAN KETERAMPILAN SISWA SMA NEGERI 1 KALIBAWANG

Latar Belakang: Lingkungan sekolah berada pada urutan ke 4 area yang sering terjadi kecelakaan. Perlu adanya tindakan cepat dan tepat untuk menangani kecelakaan, atau biasa dikenal dengan istilah first aid. Sebagian besar penghuni sekolah adalah siswa, dan mungkin dibutuhkan untuk menjadi penolong pertama saat terjadinya kegawatan. Terdapat beragam upaya untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan siswa mengenai first aid, salah satunya melalui media video. Penggunaan media video dalam pelatihan first aid diyakini memberikan pengaruh dalam peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan siswa. Tujuan Penelitian : Mengetahui pengaruh first aid training in school dengan menggunakan media video pada pengetahuan dan keterampilan siswa SMAN 1 Kalibawang. Metode: Penelitian merupakan penelitian quasi eksperimen dengan rancangan one group pre-test post-test design tanpa kelompok kontrol. Sampel diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling dan mendapatkan 46 siswa sebagai responden penelitian. Pengetahuan diukur dengan kuesioner mengenai first aid training in school. Keterampilan diukur dengan checklist observasi. Analisa data menggunakan uji wilcoxon. Hasil: Hasil rata-rata skor pengetahuan pada saat pre-test adalah 3,6 dan post-test sebesar 8,8, kemudian rata rata skor keterampilan pada saat pre-test sebesar 42,9 dan post-test sebesar 83,2. Dengan p-value = 0,000 pada keduanya, menunjukan terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan siswa setelah mengikuti first aid training in school dengan media video. Kesimpulan: First aid training in school dengan menggunakan media video terbukti dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan siswa SMAN 1 Kalibawang.

Background: The school environment is ranked four in accident events. Fast responsiveness and appropriate accident management is needed as known as first aid. The majority of school community is students, therefore acted as first responders. Sufficent knowledge and skill needed to ensure their safety and appropriate management. There are various way to increase the knowledge and skill for first aid, one among them is through video utilization. Objective: This research was conducted to determine the effect of first aid training in school using videos on the knowledge and skills of students at Kalibawang 1 State High School. Method: The study was a quasi-experimental study with one group pretest posttest design without a control group. Samples were taken by purposive sampling technique and 46 students were enrolled as research respondents. Knowledge is measured by a questionnaire on first aid training in schools. Skills are measured by an observation checklist. Data was analysed using Wilcoxon test. Result: The average score of learning at the time of the pretest was 3.6 and for the posttest was 8.8, then the average score of the skills at the pretest was 42.9 and for the posttest was 83.2. With p-value = 0,000 for both, shows there is an enhancement in students' learning and skills after attending the First Aid Training in School using video media. Conclusion: The first aid training in school using video demonstration improved the knowledge and skills of the students at Kalibawang 1 State High School.
