Analisis Kekuasaan Simbolik Partai Demokrat di Kabupaten Pacitan (Studi Kasus 'Birunisasi' di Kabupaten Pacitan Pada Tahun 2009-2019)

ABSTRAK Studi ini bertujuan untuk membahas kekuasaan simbolik yang dijalankan oleh Partai Demokrat di Kabupaten Pacitan melalui 'birunisasi'. Fenomena 'birunisasi' merupakan tindakan penggunaan warna biru yang identik dengan identitas warna Partai Demokrat. 'Birunisasi' dilakukan untuk memperlihatkan eksistensi Partai Demokrat sebagai partai yang berkuasa di Pacitan sejak kemenangannya pada Pemilu tahun 2004 dan Pemilu tahun 2009. Menariknya, di tengah situasi politik yang kompetitif 'birunisasi' justru dapat terus menyebar tanpa memunculkan penolakan secara fisik dari masyarakat Pacitan. Berdasarkan pemaparan tersebut, penelitian ini memiliki pertanyaan kunci: Bagaimana kekuasaan simbolik yang dijalankan oleh Partai Demokrat melalui 'birunisasi' dapat berlangsung tanpa menimbulkan penolakan dari masyarakat Pacitan? Untuk menjawab permasalahan yang dimunculkan dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Sebagai pisau analisis, peneliti menggunakan teori Kuasa Simbolik Pierre Bourdieu untuk membantu menjelaskan praktik 'birunisasi' di Pacitan yang berlangsung tanpa menimbulkan penolakan secara fisik dari masyarakat. Teori ini akan dielaborasikan dengan konsep Bourdieu yang lain yaitu habitus dan modal untuk mengurai latarbelakang mengapa masyarakat Pacitan bersedia menerima 'birunisasi'. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 'birunisasi' dapat diterima oleh masyarakat Pacitan karena adanya gejala awal pembentukan habitus yang bersumber dari akumulasi pengalaman masa lalu SBY bersama masyarakat Pacitan. Interaksi di masa lalu tersebut, turut melibatkan modal ekonomi, modal sosial, modal budaya, dan modal simbolik miliki SBY yang didayagunakan untuk mengukuhkan posisi Partai Demokrat sebagai pihak yang berkuasa di Pacitan sejak tahun 2004. Gejala awal pembentukan habitus kemudian diikuti dengan terbentuknya sistem disposisi berupa persepsi Partai Demokrat sebagai 'Partainya Wong Pacitan' yang secara otomatis memunculkan sikap keterbukaan masyarakat Pacitan untuk menerima dan mengikuti tindakan penggunaan warna biru yang dilakukan oleh SBY dari tahun 2008. Penggunaan warna biru yang menyebar secara masif menjadi 'birunisasi', menandai beroperasinya mekanisme kuasa simbolik yaitu ketundukan secara mental terhadap kepentingan penguasa. Sejak tahun 2009 masyarakat yang mengikuti tindakan SBY menggunakan warna biru, tidak menyadari bahwa warna biru merupakan instrumen simbolik yang digunakan untuk menyatakan kekuasaan Partai Demokrat di Pacitan. Tanpa didahului instruksi yang tertulis secara resmi, 'birunisasi' disematkan oleh penyelenggara acara pada setiap kegiatan yang melibatkan SBY, infrastruktur publik yang dibangun oleh pemerintah, serta bangunan milik warga atau swadaya di Pacitan. 'Birunisasi' di Pacitan mengalami perubahan ke warna lain setelah SBY lengser dari jabatan presiden. Hal tersebut memperihatkan bahwa 'birunisasi' yang terjadi di Pacitan sangat dipengaruhi oleh faktor personal SBY.

ABSTRACT This study aims to discuss the symbolic power exercised by the Demokrat Party in Pacitan Regency through 'birunisasi'. The 'birunisasi' phenomenon is an act of using the color blue, which is identical to the Demokrat Party's color identity. The 'birunisasi' was employed to show the existence of the Demokrat Party as the ruling party in Pacitan since their victories in the 2004 and 2009 general elections. Interestingly, during a competitive political situation, such action continued to grow and spread without developing any physical resistance from the Pacitan community. Ergo, this research poses a key question: "How can a symbolic power done by the Demokrat Party through 'birunisasi' take place without causing rejection from the Pacitan community?" To answer the problems raised in this study, the researcher used qualitative research methods with a case study approach. To further investigate the problem, the researcher utilized the theory of the Symbolic Power of Pierre Bourdieu to help explain the practice of 'birunisasi' in Pacitan that took place without causing physical rejection from the community. This theory will be elaborated with other Bourdieu's concepts of habitus and capital to unravel the background of why the Pacitan people were willing to accept 'birunisasi'. The results of this study indicate that 'birunisasi' was accepted by the Pacitan community because of the initial symptoms of the formation of habitus that came from the accumulation of SBY's past experiences with the Pacitan community per se. These past interactions also involved SBY's economic, social, cultural, and symbolic capital, which were used to strengthen the Demokrat Party's position as a ruling party in Pacitan since 2004. The initial symptoms of the formation of habitus were followed by the formation of a disposition system in the form the perception of the Demokrat Party as 'Wong Pacitan's Party', which automatically led to the Pacitan people accepting and following the action of using the blue color carried out by SBY since 2008. The use of the color blue that spread massively to 'birunisasi' marked the operation of the symbolic power mechanism, namely mental submission to the interests of the authorities. Since 2009, people who had followed SBY's actions of using the color blue did not realize that blue is a symbolic instrument employed to declare Demokrat Party's power in Pacitan. Without prior written instructions, 'birunisasi' is embedded by the event organizer in every activity involving SBY, public infrastructure built by the government, and buildings owned by residents or community enterprises in Pacitan. 'Birunisasi' in Pacitan changed to another color after SBY resigned from the presidency. This shows that the 'birunisasi' that occurred in Pacitan was strongly influenced by SBY's factors.
