PRODUKTIVITAS INDUK ELITE SAPI MADURA DI KAWASAN PENGEMBANGAN BUDAYA SONOK DI PULAU MADURA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui produktivitas induk elite sapi Madura di Kecamatan Pasean, Waru, dan Batu Marmar sebagai pusat pengembangan sapi sonok. Penelitian ini menggunakan 54 orang peternak dan 85 ekor induk elite sapi Madura yang dimilikinya. Penelitian dilaksanakan menggunakan metode wawancara dan pengamatan langsung di lapangan. Variabel yang diamati adalah karakteristik wilayah, sistem produksi (karakteristik peternak dan sistem pemeliharaan), ukuran tubuh, dan kinerja reproduksi. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis one way analysis of variance. Ukuran tubuh induk elite di Kecamatan Pasean, Waru, dan Batu Marmar berturut-turut adalah panjang badan 134,51±7,46 130,79±7,34 132,92±10,54, lingkar dada 166,37±9,21 163,58±11,37 155,51±8,07, lebar dada 41,39±4,69 39,71±4,53 42,92±4,64, dalam dada 65,04±4,82 61,50±5,60 64,25±8,99, tinggi gumba 126,53±5,21 124,92±6,01 132,92±3,61, tinggi pinggul 123,69±5,51 122,54±4,38 124,33±6,24, lebar pinggul 41,71±4,01 38,50±4,38 39,00±5,36, dan indeks kepala 45,14±3,72 43,99±3,24 46,26±7,25. Hasil penelitian kinerja reproduksi yang diperoleh adalah umur pertama kali kawin 22,04±2,31 21,95±2,48 21,18±2,75, service per conception (S/C) 1,89±0,46 2,00±0,61 1,91±0,54, umur sapih 5,81±0,44 5,77±0,43 5,82±0,40, post partus mating 4,82±0,80 4,82±1,22 4,54±0,52, dan interval kelahiran 14,44±1,02 14,68±1,29 14,00±1,34. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh disimpulkan bahwa ukuran tubuh dan kinerja reproduksi di Kecamatan Pasean, Waru, dan Batu Marmar tidak berbeda nyata, sehingga ketiga kecamatan dapat dijadikan sebagai pusat pengembangan sonok.

This study was aimed to observe the productivity of elite Madura cows in Pasean, Waru, and Batu Marmar Sub-Districts as central of sonok cattleareas. The study used 54 farmers and 85 of the elite Madura cows they owned. The study was conducted by interview method and direct observation. The variables observed were production systems (farmers characteristics and raising systems), cow's body size, and reproductive performances. The data obtained were analyzed by one way analysis of variance. The body size of elite cows in Pasean, Waru, and Batu Marmar Sub-Districts respectively, were length of the body 134,51±7,46 130,79±7,34 132,92±10,54, girth of chest 166,37±9,21 163,58±11,37 155,51±8,07, width of chest 41,39±4,69 39,71±4,53 42,92±4,64, depth of chest 65,04±4,82 61,50±5,60 64,25±8,99, height at withers 126,53±5,21 124,92±6,01 132,92±3,61, height at hip 123,69±5,51 122,54±4,38 124,33±6,24, width of hip 41,71±4,01 38,50±4,38 39,00±5,36, and head index 45,14±3,72 43,99±3,24 46,26±7,25. The result of reproductive performance obtained were first mating age 22,04±2,31 21,95±2,48 21,18±2,75, service per conception (S/C) 1,89±0,46 2,00±0,61 1,91±0,54, weaning age 5,81±0,44 5,77±0,43 5,82±0,40, post partus mating 4,82±0,80 4,82±1,22 4,54±0,52, and calving interval 14,44±1,02 14,68±1,29 14,00±1,34. It was concluded that body size and reproductive performances in Pasean, Waru, and Batu Marmar Sub-districts were not significantly different, so that those three Sub-Districts can be used as the center of sonok areas.
