Aseton atau yang juga dikenal dimethyl ketone, merupakan senyawa organik dengan rumus molekul (CH3COCH3). Aseton murni memiliki sifat tidak berwarna, berbau tajam, mudah menguap, dan berwujud cair pada suhu kamar. Berdasarkan aplikasinya, hasil sintesa berupa methyl methacrylate (MMA) dan bisphenol-A (BPA) banyak dibutuhkan oleh industry polimer selain itu solvent merupakan segementasi pasar yang menjadi kunci kebutuhan Acetone di dunia saat ini. Sedangkan berdasarkan end-use, segmentasi Acetone digunakan sebagai pelarut pembersih seperti tinta ataupun cat, kosmetik seperti haircare dan skincare, serta obat-obatan (Pharmaceutical) yang diprediksi akan menjadi key factor driving market hingga 2030. Sementara secara regional, Asia pasifik tercatat sebagai segmen pasar terbesar yaitu 47,2% pada tahun 2019. Harga jual yang tinggi dan juga stabil berdasarkan berbagai laporan forcast market menjadikan senyawa organik ini akan memberi keuntungan yang besar terlebih lagi kebutuhan Alil alkohol pada regional Asia pasifik masih mengimpor dari Eropa. Adapun Laju pertumbuhan majemuk Alil alkohol atau CAGR juga diprediksi akan terus naik sejak 2020 hingga 2030 sebesar 4%.
