DASAR PERTIMBANGAN PEMILIHAN LOKASI PEMBANGUNAN INFRASTRUKTUR DI PULAU SANGIHE BESAR OLEH PEMERINTAH HINDIA BELANDA

Penelitian ini berusaha untuk mengungkap faktor yang melatarbelakangi Pemerintah Hindia Belanda memilih lokasi pembangunan berbagai infrastruktur fisik di Pulau Sangihe Besar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memetakan tinggalan arkeologi pada masa Pemerintah Hindia Belanda di Pulau Sangihe Besar, baik yang di darat maupun di perairan. Selain itu, penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui dasar pertimbangan Pemerintah Hindia Belanda dalam memilih lokasi pembangunan infrastruktur di Pulau Sangihe Besar. Penelitian ini terdiri dari lima tahapan. Pertama, pengumpulan data arkeologi, sejarah dan lingkungan. Kedua, tahap pendeskripsian semua data. Ketiga, tahap analisis data. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan analisis keruangan dan analisis lingkungan fisik. Keempat, tahap interpretasi, yaitu tahap menggabungkan hasil analisis keruangan dan analisis lingkungan fisik. Kelima, penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini mengungkapkan alasan utama hadirnya Pemerintah Hindia Belanda di Pulau Sangihe Besar karena kebutuhan mereka akan kopra. Untuk mendukung usaha pemerintah memonopoli kopra, maka dibangun berbagai fasilitas pendukung seperti jalan, perkantoran, sekolah, pasar, pelabuhan, sarana ibadah, penjara dan lainnya. ada tiga dasar pertimbangan pembangunan infastruktur tersebut yaitu: faktor ekonomi, politik dan lingkungan. Dari berbagai wilayah, penulis menemukan tiga wilayah yang paling masif dibangun infrastruktur yaitu: Tahuna, Manganitu dan Tamako.

This study tries to uncover the underliying factors of the Netherlands Indies Government choosing the location of the various physical infrastructure on Sangihe Besar Island. The main purpose of this study is to map the archeological remains of the Netherlands Indies Government on Sangihe Besar Island, both on land and in the water. This study also aims to determine the basic considerations of the Netherlands Indies Government in choosing the location of infrastructure development on Sangihe Besar Island. This research consists of five stages. First, the collection of archeological, historical and environmental data. Second, the stage of describing all data. Third, the data analysis stage. In this study spatial analysis and physical environment analysis are used. Fourth, the interpretation phase, which is the stage of combining the results of spatial analysis and physical environment analysis. Fifth, drawing conclusions. The results of this study reveal the main reason for the presence of the Dutch Indies Government on Sangihe Besar Island because of their need for copra. To support the government's efforts to monopolize copra, various supporting facilities have been built such as roads, offices, schools, markets, ports, religious facilities, prisons and others. There are three basic considerations for infrastructure development. They are economic, political and environmental factors. From various regions, the authors found three of the most massive areas of infrastructure built, namely: Tahuna, Manganitu and Tamako.
