THE PROCESS OF ARTICLE MODERATION IN HIPWEE COMMUNITY WITH SUBSTANTIAL AND PICTORIAL EDITING TECHNIQUE

Tujuan penulisan tugas akhir ini adalah untuk menjelaskan tentang prosess moderasi artikel yang ada di Hipwee Community. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah studi lapangan dan studi pustaka. Studi lapangan dilakukan dengan wawancara pribadi dan observasi. Data diperoleh melalui program magang di Hipwee Community, bagian dari Hipwee.com, dari 1 April sampai dengan 28 Juni 2019. Dalam melakukan studi lapangan penulis mengutip beberapa referensi yang berasal dari buku, kamus, artikel dari situs website, dan jurnal yang terkait dengan tugas akhir ini. Berdasarkan hasil diskusi dalam tugas akhir ini, artikel yang dikirim oleh kontributor Hipwee Community harus melalui serangkaian tahap moderasi terlebih dahulu. Moderasi dilakukan oleh tim editor di Hipwee Community yang disebut moderator. Artikel dimoderasi menggunakan dua teknik penyuntingan, yaitu teknik menyunting secara substansial dan teknik menyunting secara pictorial. Dalam proses moderasi menggunakan teknik penyuntingan secara substansial, moderator tidak boleh melakukan pengubahan terhadap gaya bahasa dan gaya menulis penulis maupun mengubah isi dari artikel yang ditulis oleh kontributor Hipwee Community. Sementara itu, teknik penyuntingan secara pictorial digunakan untuk menyesuaikan antara gambar ataupun foto yang disematkan pada artikel dengan isi artikel yang ditulis. Proses moderasi ini dilakukan untuk memeriksa apakah artikel tersebut sesuai dengan kriteria artikel yang dicari Hipwee Community sebelum diterbitkan.

This final paper aims to explain how the process of article moderation in Hipwee Community. The methods of collecting data used by the writer are field study and library study. The field study was carried out with interview and observation. The data were obtained during an internship program in Hipwee Community, a part of Hipwee.com, from April 1st to June 28th, 2019. In conducting the field study the writer quoted several references from books, dictionary, website articles, and journals related to the topic of this final paper. Based on the results of discussion in this final paper, the articles sent by Hipwee Community contributors have to undergo a set of moderation process. The moderation process is carried out by a Hipwee Community editor called moderator. The article will be moderated with two editing techniques which are substantial editing technique and pictorial editing technique. In substantial editing technique, the moderator must not make any change towards the writing style and language style or change the content of the article written by Hipwe Community contributor. Meanwhile, pictorial editing technique is used to fit the content with the pictures shown in the article based on its content. This moderation process is carried out to check whether the article is suitable with the criteria of article in Hipwee Community before it publish.
