Tinjauan semiotik terhadap makna simbolik relief lalitavistara Candi Borobudur

Borobudur merupakan satu di antara tujuh keajaiban buatan manusia yang ada & dunia ini. Ia membawa pertanyaan-pertanyaan paling mengusik berkaitan dengan makna simbolik yang diembannya, karenanya penelitian ini berusaha menunjukkan manisfestasi sinibolik dan makna simbolik dalam Relief Lalitavistara Candi Borobudur. Atas dasar hal di atas maka penelitian ini dengan pendekatan sistematis-reflektif mengambil bahan dari 2 aliran semiotik, dimulai dari Charles Sanders Peirce, lalu Umberto Eco, dan didukung dengan Teori Simbol Susanne K. Langer. Metode yang dipakai adalah metode historik, deskriptif, analisis-sinte tik, dan refleksi-kritis. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: dalam Relief Lalitavistara terdapat 315 buah wujud simbolik, yaitu: 88 buah simbol Dharmadhatu, 43 buah simbol Anicca-Buddha, 126 buah simbol wujud penghormatan, dan 3 buah simbol khusus.

Borobudur is one of the seven man-made wonders in the world. It suggest the most intriguing questions with regards to symbolic meaning hence this research attempts to show the symbolic manifestation and to acquire into the meaning of the symbolic in Borobudur Temple, that is The Lali tavis tara Relief. On that basis this research using systematic-reflective approach takes its material from the works of the two mainstream of semiotics, beginning with Charles Sanders Pierce. And then Umberto Eco, and supported by symbols Theory with Susanne K. Langer. The method used here are historic, description, synthetic-analysis, and critical-reflexive. The Results of this research are: In Lalitavistara relief of there are 315 mansfestation of symbol symbol, there are 88 items Amisa Puja symbol, 48 item Mudra symbol, ,5 items Trikaya symbol, 2 items Dharmadatu symbol, 43 items Anicca-Buddha symbol, 126 items are respective symbol, and 3 items special symbol.
