Background: Patient with chronic kidney disease are at substantial risk of having malnutrition. Malnutrition is one of the most important things that could affect chronic kidney disease' s patient. Adversely affecting morbidity, mortality, functional activity and patient' s quality of life. Prevention of malnutrition could increase the patient' s quality of life and may also help in determining the appropriate treatment. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to confirm the association between patient' s nutritional status, more specifically if there is any sign of malnutrition with their quality of life. From previous study, it is hypothesized indicate that patients receiving maintenance dialysis with a higher MIS have an increased risk of adverse outcomes, including quality of life.

Method: This is a cross-sectional study done in 42 CAPD patients at RSUP Dr. Sardjito Yogyakarta and for the data collection uses the MIS to record the patient' s nutrition status. It uses patient' s related medical history to interpret the result. For the quality of life, it is measured using a standardized questionnaire, KDQOL-SF 1.3. The association of both data will be assessed using quantitative analysis (SPSS). Results: Malnutrition Inflammation Score (MIS) is significant to mental health (-0.361, p= 0.019), physical health (-0.403, p= 0.008), and kidney disease issue (-0.458, p= 0.002). After being adjusted to occupation, MIS is only significant to physical health (-0.391, p=0.011) and kidney disease issues (-0.425, p= 0.006). Conclusion: In this study, there is significances found between Malnutrition Inflammation Score (MIS) and quality of life aspects in physical health, mental health, and kidney disease issue. Occupation and mental health have a significant positive correlation.
