The Influence of Leader-Member Exchange on Employee Voice Behavior: The Mediating Role of Voice Efficacy

Ide-ide yang disuarakan dapat membantu organisasi untuk mengikuti lingkungan bisnis yang serba cepat. Perilaku employee voice dapat ditingkatkan di dalam organisasi ketika adanya kualitas hubungan antara atasan-bawahan yang baik. Kualitas hubungan antara atasan-bawahan akan meningkatkan kepercayaan diri karyawan untuk melakukan perilaku voice. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menguji pengaruh kualitas hubungan atasan-bawahan terhadap perilaku employee voice dengan voice efficacy sebagai peran mediasi. Penelitian ini mengambil subyek berupa karyawan yang bekerja pada Tanihub. Hipotesis diuji menggunakan kuesioner yang disebarkan dan dikembalikan dengan jumlah 84 untuk diolah dan dianalisis. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa kualitas hubungan atasan-bawahan signifikan berpengaruh positif terhadapan perilaku employee voice. Lalu, voice efficacy terbukti memediasi secara penuh hubungan antara kualitas hubungan atasan-bawahan dan perilaku employee voice. Peneliti mengakhiri penelitian ini dengan kesimpulan, implikasi penelitian dan saran untuk penelitian selanjutnya.
Employee voice behavior is a crucial factor in an organization, where employees are given the freedom to express their opinion, giving valuable information and concern to benefit the organization. Ideas that can benefit the organization during this fast-changing business environment. Employee voice behavior can be improved within the organization by when high leader-member exchange exists. Leader-member exchange will decrease employee concern regarding the result thus increase employee believe in their capability in expressing their voices. Therefore, this research is done to test the influence of leader-member exchange on employee voice behavior with the mediating role of voice efficacy. The subject of the research is the employee of Tanihub, Indonesian based startup. The hypotheses were tested using questionnaires that distributed and returned with a total of 84 sheets to be processed and analyzed. The result of the research proves that leader-member exchange positively influences employee voice behavior. Also, this research supports that voice efficacy fully mediates the positive relationship between leader-member exchange and employee voice behavior. The researcher concluded this research with conclusion, the implication of the findings and suggestions for further research.
