Dampak Rezim Sertifikasi Halal terhadap Upgrading Industri Kosmetik Global

INTISARI Industri kecantikan global mengalami pergeseran trend yakni dari Aestethic Cosmetic menuju ethical cosmetik kemudian Halal cosmetic. Trend Halal Cosmetic dapat menjadi peluang bagi industri kosmetik nasional untuk berpartisipasi pada rantai kosmetik global yang lebih tinggi sekaligus memperluas global market share. Disisi lain, keberadaan rezim sertifikasi pada setiap trend amat berperan dalam menentukan tata kelola dan pola upgrading industry. Maka melalui GVC, penelitian ini berusaha menganalisa dampak dari rezim sertifikasi halal terhadap pola upgrading lead firm, perusahaan nasional dan UMKM. Temuan dari penelitian ini menunjukan adanya 3 pola upgrading yang berbeda antara LOreal, Wardah dan UMKM Putri Kedaton dalam merespon rezim sertifikasi Halal.

Global Beauty industry has shifted into three phase of trends: Aesthetic Cosmetic, Ethical Cosmetic and Halal Cosmetic. The Halal trend is expected to create a chance for national cosmetic industry to move up in the global cosmetic chain and expand the global market share. As the cosmetic industry entered Global Value Chain, it faced many challenges including growing pressure from certification regimes. To some extent, certification regimes play a key role in the governance and upgrading of many industries. Therefore, by using GVC this research tries to analyze the impact of Halal certification regime toward upgrading of global cosmetic industry. The writer uses 3 cases from lead firm, national company and micro small enterprises (UMKM). The key finding of the research shows that there are 3 different upgrading patterns from LOreal, Wardah and Putri Kedaton in responding Halal Certification regimes
