NOVEL ANAK MATA DAN RAHASIA PULAU GAPI KARYA OKKY MADASARI: ANALISIS SOSIOLOGI SASTRA

Penelitian ini menggunakan novel anak Mata dan Rahasia Pulau Gapi karya Okky Madasari sebagai objek material. Adapun objek formal yang digunakan berupa teori sosiologi sastra. Terdapat tiga rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini. Pertama, mengungapkan pengaruh latar sosial pengarang terhadap penciptaan karya sastra. Kedua, mengungkapkan penggambaran kehidupan masyarakat yang dihadirkan. Ketiga, menelaah fungsi sosial MDRPG sebagai novel anak Indonesia. Kemudian, penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif analitik, yaitu mendeskripsikan pengaruh latar sosial pengarang, penggambaran masyarakat dan fungsi sosial dengan disertai oleh analisis mengenai novel Mata dan Rahasia Pulau Gapi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan keterkaitan erat antara latar sosial pengarang dan penciptaan karya sastra, yaitu peranan pengarang sebagai seorang Ibu. Adapun penggambaran masyarakat yang dihadirkan juga berkaitan dengan latar sosial pengarang, seperti riwayat pendidikan, kepekaan pengarang terhadap isu sosial, dan aktivitas pengarang sebagai pelaku urbanisasi. Penggambaran dalam novel juga memuat bergam informasi dan ajaran moral melalui tokoh serta peristiwa fantastis dan imajinatif. Kondisi tersebut dapat dilihat sebagai wujud dari fungsi sosial kehadiran karya sastra anak. Berdasarkan hal-hal tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengarang berusaha menyampaikan pandangan dan kritik terhadap kondisi masyarakat Indonesia terkini melalui novel anak Mata dan Rahasia Pulau Gapi.

This research uses a children's novel entitled Mata dan Rahasia Pulau Gapi written by Okky Madasari as a material object. In addition, sociology of literature is used as the formal object. There are three problem statements in this research. The first is to describe the effect of author's social background on the creation of literary works. The second is to describe the portrayal of the society's life in the novel. The third is to explore the social functions of MDRPG as an Indonesian children's novel. This research uses a descriptive analytical method to describe the effect of author's social background, portrayal of society and social functions accompanied with analysis of the novel Mata dan Rahasia Pulau Gapi. The results of this research indicate a close relationship between the author's social background and the creation of literary works, which is the role of the author as a mother. Meanwhile, the portrayal of the society presented in the novel is also related to the author's social background, such as history of education, author's sensitivity to social issues, and author's activities as an urbanization actor. The portrayal in the novel also contains various moral information and teachings through characters as well as imaginative and fantasized events. Such condition can be regarded as a manifestation of the social functions of children's literary works. Therefore, it can be concluded that the author tries to deliver her views and criticisms of the current conditions of Indonesian society through a children's novel entitled Mata dan Rahasia Pulau Gapi.
