Efek Priming Identitas Agama dan Identitas Moral terhadap Empati kepada Rakyat Palestina

Masyarakat dunia perlu berempati kepada Rakyat Palestina. Empati menuntun individu untuk memahami kondisi orang lain. Sejumlah faktor memengaruhi empati, diantaranya identitas agama dan identitas moral. Penelitian eksperimen dengan between-subject design ini menguji efek priming identitas agama dan identitas moral dengan menggunakan puzzle terhadap empati kepada Rakyat Palestina. Partisipan penelitian ini berjumlah 45 orang (rerata usia 21,98 tahun) yang dibagi dalam tiga kelompok. Empati diukur menggunakan Skala Empati kepada Rakyat Palestina ditambah pertanyaan mengenai kasus donasi. Hasil uji hipotesis dengan Teknik Kruskal-Wallis menemukan tidak terdapat perbedaan antar kelompok partisipan pada taraf empati kepada Rakyat Palestina (p = 0,880; p>0,05). Jumlah donasi yang hendak diberikan partisipan juga tidak berbeda antar kelompok, baik di kondisi ekonomi lapang (p = 0,247; p>0,05) maupun sempit (p = 0,659; p>0,05). Empati afektif disinyalir muncul pada konteks yang menyangkut konflik kemanusiaan. Sementara itu, persepsi penanaman identitas merupakan proses lanjutan yang lebih kompleks.

The world community should have emphatic concern to the Palestinians. Empathy guides individuals to understand the conditions of others. Some factors may predict empathy, including religious identity and moral identity. This experimental research with between-subject design aimed to examine the effect of religious identity and moral identity priming to the empathy on the Palestinians. The participants of this study consisted of 45 young adults (±21.98 years old) who were divided into three groups. Empathy was measured by using Empathy to the Palestinians Scale and questions about donation cases. The results of hypothesis testing with the Kruskal-Wallis technique found no differences between groups of participants at the level of empathy to the Palestinians (p = 0.880; p> 0.05). In addition, the amount of donations given by participants also did not differ between groups, both in the high (p = 0.247; p> 0.05) or low (p = 0.659; p> 0.05) economic class. Affective empathy was allegedly arising in contexts related to humanitarian conflict. Meanwhile, the perception of embedding identity is a more complex follow-up process.
