PENGARUH UMUR PENYAPIHAN DINI PEDET TERHADAP PERFORMA SAPI INDUK BRAHMAN CROSS DI PT. AUSTASIA STOCKFEED LAMPUNG

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh umur penyapihan dini terhadap performa induk sapi Brahman Cross di PT. Austasia Stocfeed, Lampung Timur, Lampung. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan data recording dari 374 ekor induk sapi Brahman Cross dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok. Kelompok 1 berjumlah 114 ekor kelompok induk yang pedetnya disapih dini yaitu dipisah langsung setelah beranak. Kelompok 2 sebagai kontrol berjumlah 260 ekor induk yang pedetnya dipelihara bersama sampai berumur sekitar 3 bulan. Data yang diteliti meliputi tanggal beranak, tanggal sapih, post partum estrus (PPE), tanggal inseminasi buatan (IB), jumlah IB, dan days open (DO). Analisis data performa reproduksi induk menggunakan independent sample t-Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan nyata (P<0,05) antara kelompok 1 dan kelompok 2 pada PPE (48±30 dan 86±13,75 hari), PPM (48± 30,12 dan 86±13,75 hari), S/C (1,65±0,70 dan 1,34±0,54), dan DO (67±30,44 dan 96±19,04 hari). Disimpulkan bahwa penyapihan dini meningkatkan performa reproduksi induk sapi Brahman Cross di PT. Austasia Stockfeed berdasarkan postpartum estrus, postpartum matting, dan dasy open.

This study was aimed to determine the effect of early calves weaning age on the performance of Brahman Cross cows at PT. Austasia Stockfeed, Lampung. This study used data of 374 head of cow recording Brahman Cross cattle that divided into two groups. Group 1 consisted of cows with weaned early calves, that were seperated immediately after birth due to abnormal birth proccess. Group 2 as a control, consisted of cows with calves that were weaned around three months old. Data used in this study included date of birth, date of weaning calf, postpartum estrus (PPE), date of artificial insemination (IB), and days open (DO). Analysis of cows reproductive performance data used independent sample t-Test. The results showed there were significant differences (P<0.05) between group 1 and group 2 in PPE (48±30 and 86±13.75 days), PPM (48± 30.12 and 86±13.75 days), S/C (1.65±0.70 and 1.34±0.54), and DO (67±30.44 and 96±19.04 days). It can concluded that early calf weaning increased the reproductive performance which are postpartum estrus, postpartum matting, and days open of Brahman Cross cows at PT. Austasia Stockfeed.
