KARAKTERISTIK EKSTERIOR TERNAK KUDA ANDONG DI YOGYAKARTA

Penelitian karakteristik eksterior ternak kuda andong dilakukan di wilayah kabupaten Bantul, DIY pada tanggal 1 September sampai dengan 12 Oktober 2019. Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui secara deskriptif ukuran tubuh, pola warna rambut dan pola marking yang tampak pada kuda andong. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan pengambilan data primer. Ternak yang diamati berjumlah 101 ekor, yang terdiri dari kuda lokal dan kuda keturunan Thoroughbred.. Data yang diperoleh diolah secara analisis deskriptif dan dilakukan T-Test. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian maka diperoleh hasil rataan ukuran tubuh kuda lokal dan keturunan Thoroughbred yaitu pada panjang badan 115,13 ± 6,26 cm dan 124,84 ± 8,78 cm. Tinggi pundak yaitu 137,13 ± 4,99 cm dan 150,59 ± 5,45 cm. Tinggi pinggul yaitu 137,74 ± 8,44 cm dan 146,94 ± 5,44 cm. Lingkar dada diperoleh rata-rata sebesar 152,62 ± 7,24 cm pada kuda lokal, 166,63 ± 9,50cm pada kuda keturunan Thoroughbred. Hasil penelitian pola warna rambut kuda menunjukan warna yang sering muncul adalah bay yang pada kuda keturunan Thoroughbred 12 ekor. Kuda lokal sebanyak 28 ekor. White, pinto, dan red adalah warna rambut kuda yang tidak muncul pada kuda keturunan Thoroughbred sedangkan pada kuda lokal masih ditemukan warna tersebut sebanyak 1 ekor pada white, pinto, dan red. Hasil penelitian marking yang ditemukan adalah banyak kuda yang polos atau tidak memiliki marking baik di wajah maupun di bagian kaki. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kuda keturunan Thoroughbred memiliki ukuran tubuh yang lebih tinggi dari pada kuda lokal.

Research on the exterior characteristics of the horses has been carried out in the Bantul Regency, DIY from September 1 until October 12, 2019. This research was conducted to determine descriptively the body size, hair coat color patterns, marking patterns that appear on andong horse. The method used primary data collection. The number of horse observed was 101 heads, consisting of local and Thoroughbred grade. The data were processed by descriptive analysis and T-Test. Based on the results obtained the average body size of local and Thoroughbred grade at body length 115.13 ± 6.26 cm and 124.84 ± 8.78 cm. Shoulder height average 137.13 ± 4.99 cm and 150.59 ± 5.45 cm. Hip height average 137.74 ± 8.44 cm and 146.94 ± 5.44 cm. Chest size average of 152.62 ± 7.24 cm in local horse, 166.63 ± 9.50 cm in Thoroughbred grade. Results of research on horse coat color patterns show the color that often appears was the bay in Thoroughbred grade horse 12 animals. Local horses are as 28 animals. White, pinto, and red was the horse coat colors that do not appear on Thoroughbred grade while in local grade there still one animal found in white, pinto, and red. The results of marking research found are many horses do not have marking either on the face or on the legs, but still found horses that have mark on the face or feet. It concluded that the Thoroughbred grade horse has a higher body size than the local horse.
