PRIVATE RETURN TO EDUCATION: ANALISIS PERBANDINGAN RETURN TO EDUCATION PESANTREN dan SEKOLAH NON PESANTREN

Pesantren merupakan salah satu institusi pendidikan tertua di Indonesia. Seiring dengan perkembangan jaman, Pesantren juga dituntut untuk menyiapkan peserta didik di lembaga pendidikan tersebut untuk mampu beradaptasi didalam pasar tenaga kerja. Penelitian ini berusaha melihat perbedaan imbal balik pendidikan Pesantren terhadap pendapatan dan pendidikan di sekolah non Pesantren, termasuk madrasah terhadap pendapatan. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis data panel dengan pendekatan fixed effect. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwasannya perbedaan gaji antara Santri dan non-Santri tidak signifikan secara statistik. Begitupula dengan perbedaan imbal balik pendidikan terhadap gaji antara individu lulusan Pesantren dan non Pesantren. Kata Kunci : imbal balik pendidikan, Pesantren, fixed effect

Pesantren is one of the oldest educational institutions in Indonesia. Along with the times, Pesantren is required to prepare its students to face the labor market. This study tries to examine the difference between return to education in Pesantrens compared with the return to education of school institutions outside Pesantren. These school institutions include madrasah or other schools with Islamic based education. This study uses the panel data regression method and fixed effect estimation. The result shows that the difference between Santri wages and not Santri wages are not statistically significant. So as the difference between the return to education for both groups is not statistically significant too. Keywords: return to education, Pesantrens, fixed effect
