KARAKTERISTIK DAN PEMILIHAN POHON UNTUK BERSARANG BURUNG KUNTUL PERAK (Egretta intermedia) DI DESA WISATA KETINGAN, KECAMATAN MLATI, KABUPATEN SLEMAN, D. I. YOGYAKARTA

Populasi burung Kuntul Perak terus mengalami penurunan yang disebabkan oleh kerusakan habitat, alih fungsi lahan, dan penangkapan oleh manusia untuk diperjual belikan. Burung Kuntul Perak memiliki kriteria dalam pemilihan pohon bersarang. Untuk menjaga kelestarian populasi burung Kuntul Perak maka perlunya dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui pohon bersarang dari burung Kuntul Perak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan karakteristik pohon bersarang burung Kuntul Perak dan karakteristik lingkungan di Dusun Ketingan (2) mengetahui jenis pohon yang disukai burung Kuntul Perak sebagai tempat bersarang (3) menentukan faktor yang mempengaruhi pemilihan pohon bersarang burung Kuntul Perak di Dusun Ketingan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode sensus pada semua pohon yang memiliki diameter >=20 cm yang berada di kawasan Dusun Ketingan. Analisis karakteristik pohon bersarang burung Kuntul perak dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Jenis pohon yang disukai burung Kuntul perak dengan menggunakan pendekatan metode Neu. Faktor yang mempengaruhi pemilihan pohon bersarang burung Kuntul Perak dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis regresi logistik biner. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik pohon bersarang dari Burung Kuntul Perak yaitu tinggi pohon rata-rata (17,10+-2,43 m), DBH rata-rata (32,77+-9,29 cm), TBBC rata-rata (4,68+-2,16 m), diameter tajuk rata-rata (6,72+-2,82 m), kerapatan tajuk rata-rata (74,08+-7,66 %), bentuk tajuk (silindris dan bulat), bentuk percabangan (monopodial). Pada pohon bersarang memiliki suhu udara rata-rata (28,5-29,6 derajat celsius), kelembaban udara rata-rata (81,1-84,1 %), kelerengan rata-rata (1-3 %). Jenis pohon yang disukai oleh burung Kuntul Perak sebagai tempat bersarang yaitu pohon jambu air, johar, kedoya, melinjo, randu, sawo bludru, dan sawo kecik. Faktor yang berpengaruh secara signifikan dalam pemilihan pohon bersarang burung Kuntul Perak yaitu tinggi pohon dan diameter tajuk.

The intermediate egret population continues to decline due to habitat destruction, land conversion function, and capture by humans for traded. Intermediate Egret has criteria in the selection of nesting trees. This research is needed to find the nesting tree of the Intermediate Egret to preserve the population of the Intermediate Egret. This study aims to (1) describe the characteristics of the Intermediate Egret nest tree and the environmental characteristics in the hamlet of Ketingan (2) determine the type of tree that is preferred by the Intermediate Egret as a nesting place (3) determine the factors that influence the choice of the Intermediate Egret nest tree in the Ketingan village. The method used in this study is census method on all trees that have a diameter of>=20 cm in the Ketingan village. Analysis of the characteristics of the Intermediate egret nest tree was carried out in a descriptive quantitative. Tree species selected by Intermediate egrets using the Neu method approach. Factors influencing the selection of the Intermediate Egret nest tree were carried out using binary logistic regression analysis. The results showed that the characteristics of the nesting tree of the Intermediate Egret were average tree height (17,10+-2,43 m), DBH on average (32,77+-9,29 cm), clear bole on average (4,68+-2,16 m), crown diameter on average (6,72+-2,82 m), crown density on average (74,08+-7,66 %), crown (cylindrical and rounded), branching (monopodial). Nested trees have an average air temperature (28,5-29,6 degree celcius), average air humidity (81,1-84,1 %), slope on average (1-3 %). Tree species selected by Intermediate Egret as nesting sites are jambu air, johar, kedoya, melinjo, randu, sawo bludru, and sawo kecik. Factors that significantly influence the selection of Intermediate Egret nesting trees are tree height and crown diameter.
