PENYERAPAN ANGKATAN KERJA PERUSAHAAN ROKOK KRETEK DI KABUPATEN KUDUS, JAWA TENGAH

Industri pengolahan yang memiliki kontribusi penting bagi perekonomian di Kabupaten Kudus adalah industri rokok. Industri rokok kretek berperan cukup banyak dalam menyerap angkatan kerja baik dari dalam maupun dari luar daerah Kabupaten Kudus dengan karakteristik yang berbeda-beda. Namun, berdasarkan data dari BPS, jumlah tenaga kerja industri rokok kretek semakin menurun dari tahun ke tahun. Maka dari itu, tujuan penelitian ini antara lain, untuk mengetahui bagaimana perkembangan jumlah tenaga kerja yang dapat diserap oleh industri rokok kretek, mengetahui karakteristik tenaga kerja yang diserap oleh industri rokok kretek dan mengetahui distribusi wilayah tenaga kerja yang terserap oleh industri rokok kretek di Kabupaten Kudus. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan pendekatan sequential explanatory design, yaitu menggunakan metode kuantitatif untuk mengetahui jumlah dan dinamika tenaga kerja kemudian dikuatkan secara kualitatif dengan wawancara mendalam agar diketahui faktor-faktor apa yang mempengaruhinya. Sampel brak rokok yang dipilih berada di Kecamatan Jati karena merupakan kecamatan yang memiliki brak rokok paling banyak. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengambilan sampel tenaga kerja menggunakan rumus Slovin. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa angkatan kerja di Kabupaten Kudus banyak yang bekerja dan mayoritas terserap di industri rokok. Para pekerja rokok memiliki karakteristik beragam yang dibedakan menjadi karakteristik demografi, karakteristik sosial ekonomi, karakteristik jenis dan aktivitas pekerjaan serta karakteristik dalam pemanfaatan pendapatan. Distribusi wilayah asal tenaga kerja tersebar di seluruh kecamatan Kabupaten Kudus serta beberapa di luar Kabupaten Kudus dan terpusat pada daerah lokasi tempat tinggal berada dekat dengan tempat kerja.

Cigarette industry is a processing industry which has significant contribution to the economy in Kudus Regency. The clove cigarette industry plays a considerable role in absorbing the labor force both from inside and outside the Kudus Regency area with different characteristics. However, based on data from BPS, the number of workers in the clove cigarette industry has declined from year to year. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to find out how the development of the number of workers that can be absorbed by the kretek cigarette industry, to identify the characteristics of labor absorbed by the kretek cigarette industry and to find out the distribution of labor areas absorbed by the kretek cigarette industry in Kudus Regency . This study used a survey method with a sequential explanatory design approach, employing quantitative methods to find out the number and dynamics of workers which then is strengthened qualitatively by in-depth interviews to know what factors influence it. The selected cigarette brand samples are located in Jati Subdistrict because it is the district that has the most cigarette braks. The method used in labor sampling employed the Slovin formula. The results of this study indicate that the labor force in Kudus Regency works a lot and the majority is absorbed in the cigarette industry. Cigarette workers have diverse characteristics which are distinguished into demographic characteristics, socio-economic characteristics, characteristics of types and work activities and characteristics in the use of income. The distribution of the area of origin of the labor force is spread throughout the sub-districts of Kudus Regency and some outside the Kudus Regency and are concentrated in the area where the residence is located near the workplace.
