Webtoon "Along with the Gods Afterlife series" dan Film "Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds": Kajian Ekranisasi

Penelitian ini membahas tentang ekranisasi webtoon Along with the Gods Afterlife series yang dibuat pada tahun 2010 oleh penulis webtoon Joo Ho Min ke dalam film Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds yang dibuat oleh Kim Yonghwa pada tahun 2017. Suatu karya sastra hasil adaptasi atau ekranisasi memiliki struktur yang berbeda dengan karya sastra aslinya. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan persamaan dan perbedaan antara kedua karya. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode pengambilan data berupa potongan-potongan dialog dan gambar dari webtoon dan film yang sudah diterjemahkan oleh penulis. Pendekatan struktural milik Robert Stanton (1965) digunakan untuk memaparkan struktur webtoon Along with the Gods Afterlife series dan film Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds serta menunjukkan persamaan dan perbedaan keduanya. Teori kedua yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori ekranisasi oleh Pamusuk Eneste (1991) untuk mengungkapkan perubahan-perubahan yang terjadi akibat proses ekranisasi webtoon Along with the Gods Afterlife series menjadi film Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds. Hasil dari analisis yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa film Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds memiliki struktur yang berbeda dengan webtoon Along with the Gods Afterlife series. Perbedaan-perbedaan tersebut diakibatkan oleh penciutan atau pengurangan, penambahan, dan perubahan variasi pada unsur struktur yang dilakukan saat proses ekranisasi. Salah satu hasil dari penciutan adalah adanya pengurangan atau penghilangan tokoh cerita seperti Jin Kihan dan Song Guhyeon, serta pengurangan adegan dalam film untuk menyesuaikan waktu pemutaran film. Penambahan juga dilakukan oleh sutradara Kim Yonghwa pada alur atau adegan, serta penambahan pada latar tempat seperti penambahan gedung yang terbakar sebagai latar. Selanjutnya melalui perubahan variasi dapat diketahui pula bahwa dalam proses ekranisasi webtoon Along with the Gods Afterlife series menjadi film Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds, sutradara melakukan perubahan-perubahan pada variasi seperti tokoh dan penokohan, adegan, alur serta latar.

This study discusses the adaptation of webtoon titled Along with the Gods Afterlife series made in 2010 by Joo Homin into a movie titled Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds directed by Kim Yonghwa in 2017. An adapted or ecranised literature has different structure from the original literature. Therefore, this study aims to reveal the similarities and differences between the two works. This study used some dialogues and the drawings of the webtoon and film that have been translated by the author as a method of data collection. Through Robert Stanton (1965)'s structural approach, webtoon and film structures could be analysed deeper. The second theory used in this study is the theory of ecranisation by Pamusuk Eneste (1991) which is used to reveal the changes that occur due to the process of webtoon ecranisation. The results of the analysis show that the movie titled Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds has a different structure from the original webtoon. These differences are caused by subtraction, addition, and variations changes made in the process of ecranisation. One result of subtraction is the reduction in the story characters such as reduction in Jin Kihan and Song Guhyeon character, and reduction in the scenes to adjust the time of the movie. Addition was also made by director Kim Yonghwa on the plot or scene, and on the setting of the movie such as a burning building. Furthermore, it can be seen that in the process of webtoon ecranisation into the movie titled Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds, the director made changes to variations such as characterisation of the characters, scenes, plots and places.
