Pengaruh Poligami Terhadap Kesejahteraan Materiel Rumah Tangga di Indonesia: Studi Empiris Data IFLS

Praktik poligami di berbagai belahan dunia menimbulkan pro dan kontra, termasuk di Indonesia. Terdapat pertanyaan besar apakah praktik poligami dapat menghadirkan kesejahteraan di dalam rumah tangga poligami. Penelitian ini bertujuan ini mengetahui pengaruh praktik poligami terhadap kesejahteraan materiel rumah tangga di Indonesia menggunakan data survei longitudinal Indonesian Family Life Survey. Estimasi menggunakan Ordinary Least Square dan Two Stage Least Square membuktikan bahwa praktik poligami berpengaruh negatif terhadap kesejahteraan materiel rumah tangga. Akan tetapi, terdapat perbedaan pengaruh antara sampel muslim dan nonmuslim. Kerangka teori dan pemilihan metode didiskusikan dalam penelitian ini.

Polygamy practice in various parts of the world raises pros and cons, including in Indonesia. There is a big question whether the practice of polygamy can bring prosperity in polygamy households. This study aims to determine the effect of polygamy practices on household material welfare in Indonesia using longitudinal survey data, the Indonesian Family Life Survey. Estimation using Ordinary Least Squares and Two-Stage Least Square proved that the practice of polygamy negatively affects the material well-being of households. However, there is a different effect between Muslim and Non-Muslim samples. The theoretical framework and method selection are discussed in this study. Keywords:
