HUBUNGAN TINGKAH LAKU SEKSUAL DENGAN KUALITAS SPERMA BEKU SAPI SIMMENTAL DI BALAI PENGEMBANGAN PERBIBITAN TERNAK DAN DIAGNOSTIK KEHEWANAN YOGYAKARTA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan tingkah laku seksual dengan kualitas sperma beku sapi Simmental di UPTD BPPTDK Yogyakarta. Materi yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah tiga ekor sapi pejantan Simmental di UPTD BPPTDK. Pengamatan tingkah laku seksual dilakukan pada pagi hari meliputi waktu reaksi dan waktu ejakulasi, selanjutnya dilakukan penampungan sperma menggunakan vagina buatan. Pengamatan dilakukan sebanyak lima kali ulangan untuk masing-masing pejantan. Kualitas sperma beku yang diamati adalah motilitas, viabilitas, abnormalitas, dan keutuhan membran plasma setelah thawing. Data tingkah laku seksual pejantan, produksi sperma segar, dan kualitas sperma beku dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hubungan antara tingkah laku seksual pejantan dengan kualitas sperma beku dianalisis menggunakan korelasi Pearson dan regresi linier sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa waktu reaksi dan ejakulasi tidak memiliki hubungan dan pengaruh yang signifikan (P>0,05) terhadap produksi sperma segar dan kualitas sperma beku. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan waktu reaksi dengan total spermatozoa, total spermatozoa motil, motilitas, viabilitas, abnormalitas, dan keutuhan membran plasma spermatozoa setelah thawing memiliki korelasi masing-masing sebesar -0,028; -0,066; 0,286; 0,340; -0,364; -0,334. Waktu ejakulasi dengan total spermatozoa, total spermatozoa motil, motilitas, viabilitas, abnormalitas, dan keutuhan membran plasma spermatozoa setelah thawing memiliki korelasi masing-masing sebesar -0,092; -0,082; 0,172; 0,201; -0,071; -0,242.

This study aims to determine the relationship of sexual behavior with the quality of frozen semen of Simmental bulls in UPTD BPPTDK Yogyakarta. The material used in this study was three Simmental bulls in UPTD BPPTDK. Observation of sexual behavior was carried out in the morning including the reaction time and ejaculation time, then semen collecting using artificial vagina method. Observations were made five times for each male. The quality of frozen semen observed was motility, viability, abnormality, and the integrity of the plasma membrane after thawing. Data on male sexual behavior, fresh semen production, and frozen semen quality were analyzed descriptively. The relationship between male sexual behavior and frozen semen quality was analyzed using Pearson correlation and simple linear regression. The results showed that the reaction time and ejaculation time did not have a significant relationship and influence (P>0,05) on the production of fresh semen and the quality of frozen semen. The results showed that correlation of reaction time with total spermatozoa, total motile spermatozoa, motility, viability, abnormality, and integrity of the spermatozoa plasma membrane after thawing were -0.028; -0,066; .286; 0.340; -0,364; -0,334 respectively. Correlation between the time of ejaculation with total spermatozoa, total motile spermatozoa, motility, viability, abnormality, and integrity of the spermatozoa plasma membrane after thawing were -0.092; -0,082; 0.172; .201; -0,071; -0.242 respectively.
