PERANCANGAN JIG PADA AIR LEAK TEST MACHINE UNTUK ACCU BATTERY TIPE N200 MF, N150 MF, DAN DIN MF DI PT. CENTURY BATTERIES INDONESIA

Perkembangan teknologi menjadi hal yang penting dalam dunia otomotif mendorong perusahaan-perusahaan otomotif untuk selalu membuat improvement yang dapat mempercepat proses produksi dan meningkatkan keamanan sehingga menghasilkan produk yang aman dan berkualitas. Air leak test machine adalah suatu alat untuk menguji kebocoran cover dan container battery setelah dilakukan heat sealing machining. Mesin ini menjadi penentu atas klaim bocor accu battery sebelum proses pengemasan. Bocor pada accu battery dapat mengakibatkan kerusakan parah pada unit kendaraan. Perancangan kali ini dilakukan sebagai improvement pada jig air leak test machine yang berfungsi menahan accu battery dan mengisi dengan udara bertekanan untuk uji kebocoran. Perancangan ini dilakukan dengan mengidentifikasi dan menganalisa jig sebelum dilakukan improvement untuk mengetahui sumber permasalahan dan diharapkan tidak terjadi kesalahan judgement pada proses pengujian kebocoran serta membuat proses produksi accu battery lebih efektif. Berdasarkan hasil analisa dapat disimpulkan bahwa faktor utama penyebab terjadinya kesalahan judgement adalah desain yang mengharuskan operator mensetting posisi leak holder satu per satu terhadap vent hole. Selain itu operator harus selalu mensetting ketinggian jig setiap kali pergantian tipe baterai sehingga mengurangi keefektifan proses produksi accu battery. Hasil dari perancangan yaitu memiliki desain yang dapat menyesuaikan ketinggian leak holder secara otomatis dan perancangan dibuat untuk mengurangi langkah setting jig sehingga mempercepat proses setting.

The development of technology has become an important thing in the automotive world encourage automotive companies to always make improvement that can advice production process and increase safety so can produce safety product and quality product. Air leak test machine is an instrument to test the leak on cover and container battery. This machine has become determinant of battery leak claims before packaging process. Leak on the accu battery can resulting in severe damage on the vehicle unit. The design is done as improvement on jig air leak test machine which function as hold the accu battery and filling with compressed air for leak test. The design is done by indentifying and analyzing jig before improvement to find out the source of the problem and hopefully there is no error in judgement on leak testing process and make process production effectively. Based on the resutls of the analysis can be concluded that the main factor of the error judgement is design that requires operator leak holder position setting one by one to vent hole. In addition, operators must always set the height of the jig each tipe the battery type changes so as to reduce the effectiveness of the accu battery process. The result of the design is to have a design that can adjust the height of leak holder automatically and the design is made to reduce the jig setting step so as to advice setting process.
