VISUAL ACUITY OF AGE-RELATED MACULAR DEGENERATION PATIENTS IN RSUP DR. SARDJITO, RS MATA DR. YAP, AND RSPAU HARDJOLUKITO YOGYAKARTA

Latar belakang: Age-Related Macular Degeneration adalah salah satu penyebab umum dari hilangnya visus menuju kebutaan terutama pada orang tua. Salah satau tanda dari Age-Related Macular Degeneration adalah gangguang visus mata. Tujuan: Untuk mempelajari visus pada pasien Age-related Macular Degeneration. Metode: Studi deskriptif tentang pasien AMD dan mengambil data dari RSUP Dr. Sardjito, RS Mata Dr. Yap and RSPAU Hardjolukito Yogyakarata dari Agustus 2016 sampai Oktober 2018. Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui karakteristik dari visus mata di pasien AMD. Data di dapatkan dari visus mata setiap pasien AMD dengan menggunakan Snellen chart dan Best Corrected Visual Acuity (BCVA). Hasil: beberapa dari pasien AMD di rumah sakit memiliki kebutaan dengan wet AMD (38.9%). Berdasarkan dari WHO, pasien AMD di dominasi dengan kebutaan (33.2%) pada kategori visus mata dan diikuti oleh severe (21.8%) kemudian moderate (20.2%) dan mild (15.5%). Umur pada pasien AMD kebanyakan di rentang 70 - 79 tahun dengan 39 pasien (39.4%) dan terbanyak kedua di rentang 60 - 69 tahun dengan 35 pasien (35.4%). Dominasi jenis kelamin di pasien AMD adalah perempuan daripada laki laki di penelitian ini. Kesimpulan: Mayoritas pasien AMD di RSUP Dr. Sardjito, RS Mata Dr. Yap and RSPAU Hardjolukito Yogyakarta memiliki visus kebutaan dengan didominasi tipe wet AMD.

Background: Age-Related Macular Degeneration is the common causes of visual loss leading to blindness especially in elderly. One of the sign of AgeRelated Macular Degeneration is disorder in visual acuity. Objectives: To study the visual acuity of Age-related Macular Degeneration patients. Method: A descriptive study of AMD patients and obtains the data from RSUP Dr. Sardjito, RS Mata Dr. Yap and RSPAU Hardjolukito Yogyakarata from August 2016 until October 2018. This research is to know the characteristic of visual acuity in AMD's patients. The data will get from each AMD's patient visual acuity measure using Snellen chart and Best Corrected Visual Acuity (BCVA). Result: Among of the AMD patients within the hospital had blindness with wet AMD (38.9%). Based on WHO, AMD patients dominate with blindness (33.2%) in visual acuity category and followed by severe (21.8%) then moderate (20.2%) and mild (15.5%). The age of AMD patients most of them at the range of 70 - 79 years with 39 patients (39.4%) and the second most at the range of 60 - 69 years with 35 patients (35.4%). The dominate gender in AMD patients is women than men in this research. Conclusion: Majority of the AMD patients in RSUP Dr. Sardjito, RS Mata Dr. Yap and RSPAU Hardjolukito Yogyakarta had visual acuity in blindness dominate with wet AMD.
