PENGARUH PENCUKURAN RAMBUT DAN PEMBERIAN HORMON OKSITOSIN TERHADAP STATUS FAALI DAN PROFIL DARAH DOMBA LOKAL JANTAN

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pencukuran rambut dan pemberian hormon oksitosin terhadap status faali dan profil darah domba lokal jantan. Sepuluh ekor domba lokal jantan secara acak dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok yaitu kelompok kontrol yang rambutnya tidak dicukur dan disuntik aqiaabidestilata steril 2 ml/ekor dan kelompok perlakuan yang rambutnya dicukur dan disuntik hormon oksitosin 2 ml/ekor selama 62 hari masa penelitian. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Reproduksi Ternak Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Gadjah Mada Yogyakarta. Pengujian profil darah dilakukan bekerjasama dengan Laboratorium Patologi Klinik Fakultas Kedokteran Hewan Universitas Gadjah Mada. Variabel yang diamati adalah status faali yang meliputi temperatur tubuh, frekuensi respirasi dan pulsus dan profil darah yang meliputi jumlah eritrosit, jumlah leukosit, kadar hemoglobin, packed cell volume (PCV), total protein plasma (TPP), persentase neutrofil, eosinofil, basofil, limfosit dan monosit. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan uji t. Berdasarkan analisa statistik diketahui bahwa kedua kelompok berbeda tidak nyata dalam hal temperatur tubuh (39,14 vs 39,00 °C), frekuensi respirasi (25,40 vs 24,96 kali/menit) dan pulsus (78,75 vs 81,21 kali/menit). Demikian juga untuk jumlah eritrosit (10,70 vs 10,75 juta/mm3), jumlah leukosit (8,41 vs 9,09 ribu/mm3), kadar hemoglobin (8,59 vs 9,26 g/dl), PCV (28,50 vs 28,70%), TPP (7,00 vs 7,26 g/dl), persentase neutrofil (41,10 vs 40,00%), eosinofil (5,00 vs 6,10%), limfosit (50,90 vs 49,00%) dan monosit (2,45 vs 2,65%) antara kedua kelompok perlakuan berbeda tidak nyata.Rerata status faali dan profil darah masih berada dalam kisaran normal. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pencukuran rambut dan pemberian hormon oksitosin tidak berpengaruh terhadap status faali dan profil darah domba lokal jantan. This study was conducted to evaluate the combination effect .of clipping and oxytocin hormone injection on physiological status and blood profile of local ram. Ten heads of local ram were randomly divided into two groups, first group as a control were injected subcutaneously with 2 ml/head sterile aquabidestilata and without clipping, and second group as a treated group were clipped and injected subcutaneously with 2 ml/head oxytocin hormone twice a week for a period of 62 days. The collected data were analyzed by t-test method. The result showed that combination of clipping and oxytocin hormone injection had not significantly (P > 0,05) effect to body temperature (39,14 vs 39,00 . °C), respiration rate (25,40 vs 24,96 times/minute) and heart rate (78,75 vs 81,21 times/minute),erythrocyte count (10,70 vs 10,75 10 /mm ), leucocyte count (8,41 vs 9,09 103/mm3), hemoglobin concentration (8,59 vs 9,26 g/dl), packed cell volume (28,50 vs 28,70%), total protein plasma (7,00 vs 7,26 g/dl), percentage of neutrophyle (41,10 vs 40,00%), eosinophyle (5,00 vs 6,10%), lymphocyte (50,90 vs 49,00%) and monocyte (2,45 vs 2,65%). Based on the result of this study, it was concluded that combination of clipping and oxytocin hormone injection had not significantly effect on physiological status and blood profile of local ram.
