PENGENDALIAN MUTU TANDAN BUAH SEGAR KELAPA SAWIT DI DIVISI SORTASI PABRIK KELAPA SAWIT I KERTAJAYA PT PERKEBUNAN NUSANTARA VIII, LEBAK, BANTEN Oleh: Aditia Hanugro Laksono RINGKASAN PT Perkebunan Nusantara VIII Pabrik Kelapa Sawit Kertajaya adalah salah satu Badan Usaha Milik Negara yang mengolah kelapa sawit menjadi CPO dan kernel. Produk samping yang dihasilkan antara lain yakni tandan kosong, serabut dan kulit, serta limbah cair. Tujuan magang mahasiswa yaitu memahami fungsi dan tugas seorang penyortir di divisi sortasi serta mengidentifikasi proses pengendalian mutu Tandan Buah Segar (TBS) pada stasiun sortasi di PT Perkebunan Nusantara VIII Kertajaya. Mahasiswa magang ditempatkan pada divisi sortasi TBS yang memiliki tugas utama mengklasifikasikan buah sawit ke dalam 8 fraksi yang digolongkan berdasar kelayakan olah buah dan tingkat kematangan buah. Permasalahan yang terjadi pada stasiun sortasi di Pabrik Kelapa Sawit Kertajaya diantaranya yaitu buah tidak layak olah pada penentuan mutu visual tandan buah segar kelapa sawit, temuan tangkai TBS yang melebihi standar perusahaan, dan losses yang terdapat di lantai hamparan sortasi akibat penggunaan loader untuk memasukan TBS ke loading ramp. Solusi yang dapat dilakukan perusahaan untuk menurunkan persentase buah tidak layak olah pada penentuan mutu visual TBS yaitu mengontrol penggunaan alat panen, mengontrol lingkungan sekitar yang menyebabkan penyerbukan bunga tidak sempurna, nutrisi yang diperlukan untuk tanaman dan waktu pemasukan buah dalam loading ramp yang menyebabkan buah busuk. Tindakan tegas berupa pemberian sanksi perlu diambil oleh perusahaan untuk pemasok yang membawa TBS bertangkai melebihi standar perusahaan. Selanjutnya untuk mengurangi losses akibat buah terlindas loader yaitu dengan mengontrol buah yang masuk harus dimasukkan seluruhnya ke loading ramp dan jika ada kendala dalam proses produksi, sebaiknya buah tidak diturunkan terlebih dahulu dari truk pengangkut TBS.

QUALITY CONTROL OF PALM OIL FRESH FRUIT BUNCH AT THE SORTATION DIVISION OF PALM OIL MILL I KERTAJAYA PT PERKEBUNAN NUSANTARA VIII, LEBAK, BANTEN By: Aditia Hanugro Laksono SUMMARY PT Perkebunan Nusantara VIII Kertajaya palm oil mill is one of the state-owned enterprises that process palm oil into CPO and kernel. The company also produces by-products include empty fruit bunch, fibers and shell, also liquid waste. The internship aimed to understand the function and duty of a sorter in the sorting division and to identify the quality control process of Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) at the sorting station in PT Perkebunan Nusantara VIII Kertajaya. An intern was placed in the sorting division of FFB which has the main task to classify palm fruit into 8 fractions based on fruit process feasibility and fruit maturity level. Problems that occur at the sortation stations in Kertajaya Palm Oil Mill are the high level of the visual quality non feasible FFB at the identification, the strect of non standard FFB stem, and and the losses on the floor of the stretch of sorting due to the use of loader to load the FFB to loading ramp. The solutions that can be done by the company to reduce the non feasible fruit percentage on the identification of the visual quality of FFB is controlling the use of harvesting tools, controlling the environment that causes the pollination not perfect, controlling the nutrients needed for plants, and controlling the fruit intake time in the loading ramp that causes the rotten fruit. The decisive action of sanctions is needed to be taken by the company for suppliers who carry non-standard stemmed FFB. Furthermore, to reduce the losses due to the smash fruit by the loader is to control the incoming fruit must be fully loaded into the loading ramp, and if there is a problem in the production process should the fruit is not transferred from the FFB truck transporter.
