Tugas akhir ini membahas mengenai penyusutan arsip di Polda DIY. Tujuan dilakukannya penyusutan arsip yakni untuk mengurangi arsip yang sudah habis retensinya. Hal tersebut dilakukan dengan menggunakan tiga tahapan yakni Pemindahan, Pemusnahan dan Penyerahan. Terdapat tiga metode yang digunakan penulis untuk menyusun Tugas Akhir ini yaitu, wawancara, studi pustaka, dan observasi partisipatif. Wawancara dilakukan langsung menggunakan cara Tanya jawab dengan narasumber yang terlibat dengan pengelolaan arsip. Studi Pustaka dilakukan dengan cara mencari sumber literature, buku, peraturan yang berhubungan dengan proses penyusutan. Observasi partisipatif dilakukan dengan mengamati serta berpartisipasi secara langsung dalam kegiatan yang sesuai dengan topik bahasan Tugas Akhir ini. Kesimpulan dari tugas akhir ini adalah bahwa penyusutan arsip di Polda DIY secara umum masih belum berjalan dengan baik. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan adanya proses pemindahan arsip yang tidak disertai dengan pembuatan berita acara. Sedangkan untuk pemusnahan arsip yang seharusnya dilakukan secara prosedural belum pernah dilakukan. Tahap penyerahan arsip statis juga belum pernah di lakukan sama sekali. Urgensi penyusutan arsip di Polda DIY yaitu penyelamatan arsip baik dari segi fisik maupun isi informasi yang terkandung, menyediakan ruang penyimpanan, serta meminimalisir hilangnya suatu arsip. Kendala penyusutan arsip di Polda DIY yaitu terletak pada sarana penyusutan, kurangnya SDM pengelola arsip serta kurangnya kesadaran para SDM.

This final project discussed record disposal in Polda DIY. The purpose of record disposal is to reduce records that have been depleted. This is done by using three stages namely Transfer, Destruction, and Acquisition. There are three methods used by the author to compile this Final Project namely, interviews, literature studies, and participatory observation. Interviews were conducted directly using the questions and answer method with resource persons involved with records management. Literature studies are done by searching for sources of literature, books, regulations relating to the destruction process. Participatory observation is done by observing and participating directly in activities that are in accordance with the topic of this Final Project. The conclusion of this final project is that the records disposal in the Polda DIY, in general, is still not going well. This is evidenced by the process of transferring records that are not accompanied by the making of official reports. Whereas for the destruction of records that should have been done procedurally, it has never been done. The stage of acquisition archives has never been done at all. The urgency of records disposal in the Polda DIY is the rescue of records both in terms of physical and content information contained, providing storage space, and minimizing the loss of a record. Disposal record constraints in Polda DIY are located in the depreciation facility, lack of human resource records management and lack of awareness of the human resource.
