Pengujian Mastitis pada Kambing Peranakan Ettawa di Kelompok Tani Mantep Makaryo dengan Menggunakan Metode California Mastitis Test

Kambing peranakan ettawa (PE) merupakan salah satu ternak yang mempunyai potensi genetik tinggi sebagai penghasil daging maupun susu. Ancaman strategis yang terjadi pada kambing PE adalah penyakit mastitis. Mastitis merupakan peradangan pada ambing karena infeksi kuman pada sel-sel kelenjar susu yang ditandai dengan perubahan fisik maupun kimia pada susu. Penulisan Tugas Akhir ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengujian mastitis pada kambing PE di Kelompok Tani Mantep Makaryo dengan menggunakan metode California Mastitis Test (CMT). Periode pengambilan dan pengujian sampel dilakukan tanggal 13 Agustus dan 15 Agustus 2018. Materi yang digunakan dalam penulisan Tugas Akhir ini adalah 80 sampel susu dari populasi 40 ekor kambing PE di Kelompok Ternak Mantep Makaryo Desa Hargotirto, Kecamatan Kokap, Kabupaten Kulon Progo. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan hasil uji CMT negatif sebanyak 54 sampel (67,5%) dan positif uji CMT sebanyak 26 sampel (32,5%), dari sampel positif uji CMT, diketahui mastitis subklinis sebanyak 13 sampel (16,25 %).

Ettawa crossbreed goat are one of the cattle that have high genetic potential for both meat and milk. The strategic threat that occurs in PE goats is the presence of mastitis. Mastitis is an inflammation of the udder due to germ infection in the cells of the mammary gland which is characterized by physical and chemical changes in milk. This Final Project writing aims to determine the testing of mastitis in PE goats at Mantep Makaryo Farmers Group using the California Mastitis Test (CMT) method. The sample collection and testing period was conducted on August 13 th and 15 th, 2018. The material used in the writing of this Final Task is 80 milk samples from 40 PE goats population at the Mantep Makaryo Farmers Group, Hargotirto Village, Kokap District, Kulon Progo Regency. The test results showed that 54 samples (67.5%) were negative CMT test and the CMT test positive were 26 samples (32.5%), from the positive samples of the CMT test, found that subclinical mastitis were 13 samples (16.25%).
