PEMENUHAN KEBUTUHAN AFILIASI LESBIAN

Semenjak adanya pro dan kontra secara besar-besaran terhadap kaum lesbian, kebebasan yang dimiliki lesbian dan gay untuk memiliki hubungan sosial dengan orang lain juga terbatas. Label yang menempel terhadap "perbedaan" orientasi seksual mereka membuat orang-orang di sekitarnya seakan memiliki batasan tersendiri terhadap mereka. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan bagaimana lesbian dapat memenuhi kebutuhan afiliasi di kehidupan sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Metode pengambilan data berupa wawancara mendalam dan observasi, dengan partisipan mahasiswa berusia sekitar 20-27 tahun. Lokasi penelitian di Sleman, Yogyakarta. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah pattern-matching atau referential adequacy check. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan seorang lesbian untuk memaafkan dan menerima dirinya sendiri menjadi proses penting dalam pemenuhan afiliasi, didukung oleh adanya pengaruh positif dari orang tersayang, dukungan emosional dari orang yang dipercaya, serta adanya pengakuan dan rasa dihargai dari lingkungan.

After a large scale of pros and cons toward lesbians, the freedom to have social relationship between lesbians and gays' to other people were limited. Label that attached to the "difference" in their sexual orientation made it as if the people have their own limit of them. The aim of this study is to describe how lesbian can fulfill their needs of affiliation in social life. This study uses qualitative method with case study approach. The method use to collect the data were in-depth interview and observation. The participant are college student aged twenty-something years old. The study located in Sleman, Yogyakarta. Method of analysis that were used are pattern-matching or referential adequacy check. The results obtained indicated that a lesbian's ability to forgive and accept theirselves is are an important process in the fulfillment of affiliation, supported by the positive influence of the loved ones, the emotional support of people who are trusted, and the acknowledgement and respect from the environment.
