PENGARUH LEVEL PUPUK NITROGEN TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN RUMPUT HERMADA (SORGHUM BICOLOR SSP)

Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap pola searah dengan tiga replikasi, yang dilaksanakan dikebun milik Laboratorium Makanan Temak Jurusan Nutrisi dan Makanan Temak Fakultas Petemakan Universitas Gadjah Mada Yogyakarta selama tiga bulan. Sembilan plot lahan dengan lebar 100 cm dan panjang 200 cm, jarak tanam 10 cm X 100 cm. Pupuk yang digunakan adalah nitrogen, phosphat dan potash dengan level pupuk berturut-turut 50-50-75 kg, 75-50-75 kg 100-50-75 kg/ha. Variabel yang dicatat adalah persentase tumbuh, tinggi tanaman, hari pertama berbunga dan persentase berbunga. Analisis regresi juga dilaksanakan untuk mengetahui korelasi antara tinggi tanaman dan umur tanaman. Plasil yang diperoleh memperlihatkan bahwa tinggi tanaman dan hari pertama berbunga tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05). Pengaruh yang signifikan (P<0,05) hanya tampak pada persentase tumbuh dan persentase berbunga antara level pemupukan 50 dan 100 N/ha. The study was conducted to investigate the effect of nitrogen fertilizer levels on growth of Hermada grass (Sorghum bicolor ssp). The experiment was laid out on completely randomized design with three replications and was carried out at the Forage and Pasture Station, Faculty of Animal science Gadjah Mada University Yogyakarta for, three months periode. There were nine plots and each plots was 100 cm wide and 200 cm long. Planting distance of 10 cm X 100 cm was followed. Nitrogen, phosphor and potash fertilizers was applied at the rate of 50-50-75, 75-50-75 and 100-50-75 kg/ha, respectively per ha. The variables recorded were growth percentage, plant height, date of first flowering and flowering percentage. Regression analysis was also performed to evaluate the correlation between height and age of plant. The results showed that height of plant and date of first flowering were not affected ( P>0.05 ) by N levels. Significance effect of nitrogen application were found ( P<0.05 ) only on the percentage of growth and percentage of flowering at 50 and 100 kg N/ha. X!
