STUDI PENGARUH PEMBERIAN PREPARAT HORMON TESTOSTERON DAN OKSITOSIN TERHADAP KUALITAS DAN KUANTITAS EJAKULAT AYAM BURAS

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian kombinasi preparat hormon testosteron dan oksitosin terhadap kualitas dan kuantitas ejakulat ayam buras. Dua puluh ekor ayam buras jantan berumur sekitar 10 sampai dengan 14 bulan dengan berat badan rata-rata 2,0 kg yang dibagi secara acak menjadi dua kelompok,kelompok I sebagai kontrol dan kelompol II sebagai perlakuan. Kelompok I terdiri dari 10 ekor ayam buras jantan yang disuntik 0,2 ml/ekor aquabidestilata steril, sedang pada kelompok II disuntik dengan 0,2 ml/ekor hormon testosteron dan 0,5 ml/ekor hormon oksitosin secara subkutan. Perlakuan hormon tersebut diberikan setiap minggu dua kali untuk enam kali penampungan selama 46 hari. Evaluasi kualitas dan kuantitas sperma meliputi, warna, bau, konsisitensi, derajat keasaman (pH), volume (ml), konsentrasi (x lOVml), motilitas (%), persentase sel sperma hidup (%), dan persentase sel sperma abnormal (%). Data yang didapat kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode analisis student' t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan pemberian preparat kombinasi hormon testosteron dan oksitosin pada ayam buras jantan dapat meningkatkan kualitas dan kuantitas ejakulatnya dengan sangat nyata (P< 0,01) yaitu : volume, motilitas, konsentrasi, sel sperma abnormal, sedangkan persentase sel sperma hidup pengaruhnya berbeda nyata (P< 0,05). Warna sperma putih seperti susu, bau yang spesifik yaitu agak amis, konsistensinya agak kental, dan derajat keasaman sekitar 7-8. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan pemberian preparat kombinasi hormon testosteron dan oksitosin secara subkutan, secara umum dapat meningkatkan kualitas dan kuantitas ejakulat ayam buras. The objective of this study was to evaluate effects of combination of the synthetic testosterone and oxytocin hormones injection on the quality and quantity of the local chicken ejaculate. Twenty local chickens at 10 - 14 mounth of age with the average body weight 2,0 kg were collected and divided randomly in two groups. The first group as controlled group and the second one as a treatment group. The first group consisted of ten locals chickens and injected by 0,2 ml sterilized aquabidestilata per each, whereas the second group was subcutaneously injected by 0,2 ml testosterone hormone and 0,5 ml oxytocin hormone per each. The treatment for 46 days of sperm included colors, smells, consistency, pH, volumes (ml), concentration (x lOVml), motility (%), the percentage of living sperms (%) also the percentage of abnormal sperms (%). The gathered datas were being analyzed using the student' t-test analysis method. The results showed that injections of synthetic testosterone and oxytocin hormone combination to local chickens were able to increase not only the ejaculate's quality but also the quantity with total evidences (P< 0,01), those included : volume, motility, concentration and abnormal sperm cells, while the percentage of living sperm cells had an immense difference (P< 0,05). The sperm color was milky white, with specifical smell which was stink, and its consistency was a little thicker with the range of pH from 7 - 8. It was concluded that there were highly significantly (P < 0,01) combination increase to the quality and the quantity of local chickens ejaculate after subcutaneous injections of combination synthetic testosterone and oxytocin hormones.
