ESTIMASI PENINGKATAN POPULASI DAN NATURAL INCREASE KAMBING KACANG DI KABUPATEN BOYOLALI PROPINSI JAWA TENGAH

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan populasi dan pertambahan alami ( natural increase) kambing Kacang di wilayah kabupaten Boyolali propinsi Jawa Tengah. Enam wilayah kecamatan yang memiliki populasi kambing yang padat, sedang dan rendah dipilih sebagai lokasi penelitian. Selanjutnya masingmasing wilayah kecamatan tersebut diambil tiga desa secara random dan tiap-tiap des/a dipilih 10 orang petani-peternak sebagai responden, sehingga jumlah keseluruhan sampel sebanyak 180 responden. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode survei dari bulan April - Juli 2003. Data yang terkumpul ditabulasikan dan dihitung standar deviasi atau persentasenya. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tingkat induk beranak pertahun sebesar 79,94%. Jumlah anak sepelahiran 1,82 ekor, sehingga tingkat kelahiran ternak pertahun sebesar 52,62%. Berdasarkan tingkat kematian ternak pertahun sebesar 7,4% maka pertambahan alami ternak kambing Kacang sebesar 45,33%. Selanjutnya berdasarkan data populasi ternak kambing pada lima tahun terakhir diperoleh peningkatan populasi rata-rata sebesar 0,56%. The research was aimed to know the population growth and Natural increase of Kacang goats at Boyolali regency central java. Six districts, which are high population, middle population and low population were taken choosen as the of the site research. Three villages were taken from each district by random and ten small holders per district were taken as respondents so that the total number of respondents was 180 small holder. This research was conducted using survey method April to July 2003. The data were tabulated and to find the average and deviation standard or the percentage. The result of this study showed that a total amount of 79,94% ewes sare birth with litter size of 1,82 heads, so that it can be calculated that the lamb rate were 52,62% per year. The goat mortality per year were 7,4% therefore the natural increase of Kacang goats were 45,33%.Then,based on last five years data population it was gained the increase of mean growth 0,56%.
