Perkembangan industri kehutanan Indonesia dewasa ini sangat pesat. Berawal sebagai pengimpor plywood, Indonesia mulai mengekspor plywood tahun 1975. Sesudah tahun 1985, Indonesia telah menjadi negara pengekspor plywood terbesar di dunia. Sanipai dengan akhir tahun 1990 produksi plywood Indonesia telah mencapai setengah Jumlah ekspor dunia. Produksi plywood Indonesia tidak hanya ditujukan untuk ekspor, tetapi Juga untuk memenuhi konsumsi lokal/domestik. Pengembangan pasaran plywood domestik akan memungkinkan lebih dinamisnya kondisi pertumbuhan ekonomi negara. Penentuan kebijaksanaan untuk itu akan dapat dilakukan setelah Jumlah pasaran plywood di setiap daerah di Indonesia diketahui. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui trend pasaran plywood di Kotamadya Yogyakarta serta hubungan antara volume penjualan plywood dengan Jumlah penduduk/kepala keluarga, pendapatan per kapita dan Jumlah bangunan rumah di Kotamadya Yogyakarta. Metode pendekatan untuk mengetahui trend pasaran plywood serta hubungan tersebut adalah metode kuadrat terkecil dan metode bunga berganda. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa pasarain plywood di Kotamadya Yogyakarta menunjukkan trend yang meningkat dengan bentuk persamaan : SP - 6 441 778 + 590 324 x; di mana SP adalah volume penjualan plywood dan x adalah tahun, dihltung tahun 1989 sebagai tahun ke-O. Meningkatnya volume penjualan plywood di Kotamadya Yogyakarta erat hubungannya dengan keadaan Jumlah penduduk dan pendapatan per kapita di daerah tersebut.

Forest industy in Indonesia grows fast recently. Beginning as plywood importer, Indonesia started to export . plywood in 1975. After 1985, Indonesia became the biggest plywood exporter in the world. Until the end of 1990, Indonesian "s plywood product had reached about half of total world export. Indonesian plywood production is not only for export, but is destined for domestic consumption too. The development of domestic plywood market will give possibility for economic condition to grow more dinamically. Political conclusion for these can be made after the amount of plywood market in each Indonesian's region were known. This research was aimed to learn the trend of plywood market in the city of Yogyakarta (Kotamadya) and the relation between the volume of plywood sold with the amount of population/family, income per capita and the amount of house building in the city of Yogyakarta. Approximation method to learn the trend of plywood sold and those relationship were least square method and double interest method. The result of the research is that , pliavood market in the city of Yogyakai 'ta showed increasing-trend with ' formula : SP = 6 441 778 + 590 324 x (SP is the volume of plywood sold and x is year, calculated 1989-th as the 0-th year ). The raising of the plywood sold in the city of Yogyakarta had a close relation with the amount of population and income per capita in those city.
