PENGARUH KONDISI BIRAHI DAN TIDAK BIRAHI TERHADAP KONSUMSI PAKAN DAN PRODUKSI SUSU KAMBING PERANAKAN ETAWAH

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kondisi birahi dan tidak birahi terhadap konsumsi pakan dan produksi susu kambing Peranakan Etawah. Dua belas ekor kambing Peranakan Etawah betina dibagi dalam 3 kelompok umur masing-masing terdiri dari 4 ekor kambing. Kelompok A umur 14 sampai dengan 30 bulan, kelompok B umur 30 sampai dengan 50 bulan, dan kelompok C umur 50 sampai 72 bulan. Ketiga kelompok diberi perlakuan penyerentakan birahi kemudian diukur konsumsi pakan (kelompok A, B, C) dan produksi susunya (kelompok B dan C), selama 20 hari saat kondisi tidak birahi dan 2 hari saat birahi. Data konsumsi pakan dan produksi susu yang diperoleh di rerata dan dianalisis dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap pola faktorial 2 x 3, untuk produksi susu menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap pola searah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan besarnya penurunan konsumsi pakan selama birahi kelompok A, B dan C berturut-turut adalah 0,05 ± 0,04; 0,07 ± 0,03; 0,08 ± 0,05 kg. Penurunan produksi susu dari kelompok B dan C sebesar 20,75 ± 12,41 ml dan 33,75 ± 13,22 ml. Hasil analisis secara statistik menunjukkan bahwa kondisi birahi dan tidak birahi tidak berpengaruh terhadap konsumsi pakan dan produksi susu. The research was done to study the influences of estrus and unestrus on feed consumption and milk production of Etawah Crossbred Goat. Twelve females of Etawah Crossbred Goat were divided into three groups of age. Group A consisted of 14 - 30 months goats; group B consisted of 30 - 50 months goats; and group C consisted of 50 - 72 months goats. Group A , B and C were synchronized estrus. Feed consumption (group A , B , C) and milk production (group B, C) were measured during 20 days at unestrus condition and 2 days at estrus. The average of feed consumption and milk production were analyzed by Completely Randomized Design. The Statistical analyzed there was showed reduction of feed consumption during estrus for group A , B and C respectively were 0,05 ± 0 ,04; 0,07 ± 0,03; 0,08 ± 0,05 kg. Milk production reduced for group B and C were 20,75 ± 12,41 ml and 33,75 ± 13,22 ml. The results showed that there was no significant difference on feed consumption and milk production between estrus and unestrus condition.
