Ketahanan Lima Galur Harapan Padi Terhadap Wereng Batang Cokelat

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat ketahanan lima galur padi harapan (GM 2, V12, GM 28, V11 dan GM 8) terhadap wereng batang coklat (Nilaparvata lugens). Penelitian dilakukan memalui dua metode yaitu uji pilihan dan uji tanpa pilihan. Pada uji pilihan digunakan N. lugens sebanyak 700 ekor di dalam kotak persemaian berisi lima galur harapan dan varietas kontrol, IR 64. Uji tanpa pilihan dirancang dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Lengkap (RAKL) yang berisi lima galur harapan dan satu varietas kontrol dengan lima ulangan. Pada uji ini digunakan lima puluh N. lugens untuk tiap galur harapan maupun varietas yang diuji. Parameter yang diamati yaitu jumlah N. lugens hidup dan mati serta skor kerusakan berdasarkan pada skoring ketahanan padi menurut IRRI. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa galur harapan GM 2, GM 8, GM 28 lebih tahan terhadap N. lugens daripada V11, V12 dan IR64.

This study aimed to determine the level of resistance of five rice promising lines (GM 2, GM 8, GM 28, V11 dan V12) againts the rice brown planthopper (Nilaparvata lugens). The experiments followed the design of choice and non choice test. N. lugens used for experiment was reared in IR64, which was used as a control variety. The number of N. lugens released in the choice test box was 700. In the non choice test, 50 N. lugens were released into each variety. Four parameters were observed in the choice test: total of N. lugens stayed on the plant, total of N. lugens alived, death rate of N. lugens, and damage score. There were three parameters observed in the non choice test: total of N. lugens stayed on the plant, total of N. lugens alived, and damage score. The results of the study showed that GM 2, GM 8 and GM 28 lines were resistant to N. lugens, while V12 and IR64 were moderately resistant, and V11 line was susceptible.
