In recent times, health care professional's orientation have changed over from biomedical approach into patient-centered approach. Nevertheless, many complaint about the quality of care still easily found since hea«h care professionals still orienting at the biomedical approach in health care services. The purpose of this study is to measure effectivity of Bidan TELADAN program in enhancing midwives' communication and psychological problem assesment skill. Design used in this study is pretest-post test non-fJquiva/ent group design. The instruments used in this study were observation to gain data about midwives' skill in communicating and assessing patients' psychological problem, interview to gain data about patients' perception toward midwives' quality of care, and data comparison to gain number of references from midwives to psychologist before and after the experiment. This study involving four health centers in Sleman District where the myalgia complaints and the use of analgesics beyond treatment guidelines are high. Two health centers will be randomly assigned to the experimental groups and the control groups. The resu« of U Mann Whitney indicated that there was difference of communication score between experimental group and control group, which p=0,022 (p<0,05). The result of U Mann Whffney also indicated that there was significant difference of assessment skill score between experimental group and control group, which p=0,005 (p<0,01). It means that the program was effective in enhancing midwives' communication and psychological problem assessment skill.
