STUDI VARIASI GENETIK BERAT JENIS KAYU PADA TANAMAN UJI SPESIES Eucalyptus sp. di WANAGAMA I GUNUNGKIDUL

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah : 1) mengetahui variasi genetik berat jenis kayu Eucalyptus sp; 2) mengetahui jenis (species) Eucalyptus yang paling cocok (sesuai) untuk ditanam di Wanagama I, atau daerah lain yang kondisinya mirip. Rancangan yang digunakan pada penelitian tanaman uji species ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap Berblok (RCBD) dengan 18 seedlot sebagai perlakuan 4 treeplot pada tiap tiap seedlot, dengan 5 ulangan dan jarak tanam 4 x 4 m. Ternyata ada variasi berat jenis kayu yang nyata antar seedlot yang diuji, juga diketahui adanya kemempuan beradaptasi yang berbeda untuk tiap seedlot. Nilai rata rata berat jenis untuk masing-masing seedlot adalah 0,520331 dengan rata-rata prosen hidup 53,6 %.

The objectives of this study are : 1) to study the genetic variation of specific gravity of Eucalyptus sp ; 2) to study the prominent species of Eucalyptus to plant in Wanagama I, or other areas with the similar condition. The study basically followed a randomized completely block design (RCBD) with treatment on 18 seedlots, 4 treeplots for each seedlot and 4 x 4 meter spacing. The study significantly proved variation of specific gravity on Eucalyptus sp for each tested seedlot. It was also proved the adaptability of each seedlot was varied. The mean value of specific gravity for all seedlots was 0.520331 and percentage of adaptability was 53.6 %.
