KINERJA INDUK SAPI BRAHMAN CROSS DAN SAPI BALI PADA INTEGRASI SAWIT - SAPI DI PT. SULUNG RANCH

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kinerja induk sapi Brahman cross (BX) dan sapi Bali pada integrasi sawit-sapi di PT. Sulung Ranch, Kalimantan Tengah. Materi yang digunakan berupa indukan dan pedet sapi BX dan sapi Bali. Data yang diambil adalah mortalitas pedet, panen pedet, berat sapih, dan indeks produktivitas induk. Data mortalitas pedet, panen pedet, dan indeks produktivitas induk dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif, sedangkan berat sapih dianalisis dengan metode non parametric T-test. Persentase mortalitas pedet sapi BX dan sapi Bali berturut-turut adalah 5,50 dan 11,24 persen. Persentase panen pedet sapi BX dan sapi Bali berturut-turut adalah 58,64 dan 55,76 persen. Rata-rata berat sapih dan indeks produktivitas induk sapi BX berturut-turut ialah 173,30 ± 28,25 kg dan 101,56 kg per ekor per induk, sedangkan pada sapi Bali sebesar 131,74 ± 23,23 kg dan 73,46 kg per ekor per induk. Berat sapih pedet antara kedua bangsa tersebut berbeda nyata. Disimpulkan bahwa kinerja Induk sapi BX lebih baik apabila dibandingkan dengan sapi Bali pada pemeliharaan ekstensif di PT. Sulung Ranch.

This study aimed to determine reproduction performance of Brahman cross (BX) and Bali cattle on palm oil - cattle integration at PT. Sulung Ranch, Central Kalimantan. Material were used consisted of cows and calves of BX and Bali cattle. Parameter measured were calf mortality, calf crop, weaning weight, and cow productivity index. Data on calf mortality, calf crop, and cow productivity index were analyzed by quantitative description method. Weaning weight was analyzed by non-parametric T-test method. Calf mortality percentage of BX and Bali cattle were 5.50 and 11.24 percent, respectively. Calf crop percentage of BX and Bali cattle were 58.64 and 55.76 percent respectively. Average weaning weight and cow productivity index of BX cows were 173.30 ± 28.25 kg and 101.56 kg per head per cow, respectively, while in Bali cattle were 131.74 ± 23.23 kg and 73.46 kg per head per cow. Weight between two breeds of weaning calf was significantly different. It was concluded that performance of BX cattle cows were better compared to Bali cattle in extensive raising at PT. Sulung Ranch.
