PERBEDAAN EFEK APLIKASI DRESING PERIODONTAL ZINC OXIDE NON-EUGENOL DAN RESIN 4-META/MMA-TBB PADA PENYEMBUHAN LUKA TERBUKA PASCA BEDAH PERIODONTAL

Terapi periodontal terdiri dari 4 fase, salah satunya adalah terapi bedah yang dilakukan pada fase II. Prosedur bedah dalam perawatan periodontal, beberapa di antaranya yang menghasilkan luka terbuka, yaitu gingivektomi dan depigmentasi. Luka terbuka pada tindakan tersebut ditutup dengan dresing periodontal untuk melindungi area pembedahan dari infeksi, menghentikan perdarahan, dan mempercepat penyembuhan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan efek aplikasi dresing periodontal zinc oxide non-eugenol dan resin 4- META/MMA-TBB pada penyembuhan luka terbuka pasca bedah periodontal dikaji dari healing index dan wound healing index. Penelitian dilakukan pada 16 subjek dengan luka terbuka pasca gingivektomi atau depigmentasi yang kemudian diaplikasikan dresing periodontal secara split mouth, sisi kanan dengan zinc oxide non-eugenol dan sisi kiri dengan resin 4- META/MMA-TBB. Efek terhadap penyembuhan luka diukur melalui healing index pada hari ke-7 dan wound healing index pada hari ke-7 dan ke-21 pada tiap kelompok. Data healing index dan wound healing index antar kelompok kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji Mann Whitney. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa efek aplikasi dresing periodontal resin 4-META/MMA-TBB terhadap penyembuhan luka terbuka pasca bedah periodontal memiliki skor healing index lebih tinggi dan wound healing index lebih rendah pada hari ke-7 dibandingkan dresing periodontal zinc oxide non-eugenol, namun tidak terdapat perbedaan efek aplikasi dresing periodontal pada hari ke-21. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan efek aplikasi dresing periodontal zinc oxide non-eugenol dan resin 4-META/MMA-TBB pada penyembuhan luka terbuka pasca bedah periodontal dikaji dari healing index dan wound healing index.

Periodontal therapy consists of 4 phases, one of which is surgical therapy in phase II. Surgical procedures in periodontal treatment, some of which produce open gingival wounds, namely gingivectomy and depigmentation. The open wound is closed by periodontal dressing to protect the surgical site from infection, stop bleeding, and accelerate healing. The aim of this study was to evaluate the differences in the effects of zinc oxide non-eugenol and 4-META/MMA-TBB resin on the healing of open wounds after periodontal surgery assessed from the healing index and wound healing index. The study was conducted on 16 subjects with open wounds after gingivectomy or depigmentation which then applied periodontal dressing in split mouth, the right site using zinc oxide non-eugenol and the left site using 4- META/MMA-TBB resin. The effects on wound healing were measured through the healing index on day 7 and wound healing index on the 7th and 21st day in each group. Healing index and wound healing index between groups were then analyzed using Mann Whitney test. The results showed that the effect of the application of 4-META/MMA-TBB resin on open wound healing after periodontal surgery had a higher healing index and a lower wound healing index on the 7th day compared to zinc oxide non-eugenol, but there was no difference on the 21st day. From this study, it can be concluded that there are differences in the effects of zinc oxide non-eugenol and 4-META/MMA-TBB resin on the open wounds healing after periodontal surgery assessed from the healing index and wound healing index.
