TERJEMAHAN NOVEL NEKO TO KINPATSU TO SHIAWASE NO YU BAB 1 KARYA MITSUKI RIN

Tugas akhir ini merupakan penyajian dari terjemahan novel Neko to Kinpatsu to shiawase no Yu karya Mitsuki Rin. Novel Neko to Kinpatsu to shiawase no Yu mengangkat kisah tentang pemuda yang bekerja di sento atau pemandian umum. Dikisahkan pemuda itu mengelola sebuah pemandian umum atau sento dengan ditemani oleh seekor kucing. Dalam novel Neko to Kinpatsu to shiawase no Yu ini terdapat sedikit penggambaran tentang keberadaan sento di masyarakat Jepang. Novel Neko to Kinpatsu to shiawase no yu dipilih untuk diterjemahkan karena di dalamnya terdapat penggambaran tentang kehidupan masyarakat Jepang beserta budayanya. Dengan membaca novel terjemahan ini diharapkan pembaca dapat lebih mengenal masyarakat Jepang dan budayanya. Dalam proses penerjemahan novel ini, terdapat beberapa kendala. Kendala tersebut di antaranya adalah kesulitan dalam pemilihan kata dalam bahasa sasaran yang memiliki makna yang sama dengan kata tersebut dalam bahasa sumber, yaitu Bahasa Jepang. Kendala lain yaitu menyangkut tata bahasa yang masih belum dipelajari sehingga mempersulit proses penerjemahan.

This final paper is about a translation of Japanese novel entitled Neko to Kinpatsu to shiawase no Yu by Mitsuki Rin. The novel tells about a story of a young man who works at a sento or a Japanese public bath accompanied by his cat. In the other hand this novel also describe the existence of a sento in Japanese society. The novel is selected to be translated because to introduce the Japanese cultural heritage to Indonesian people through this novel. It is expected that the people will be easier in understanding Japanese culture. It is also to increase the public interest of reading translated novel. There are found two problems in the process of translating this novel. The first is the difficulties in finding an equivalent word from Japanese expressions to Indonesian expressions. The Second is the grammatical structure of this novel that is hard to understand by translator in the process of translating this novel.
