EFEK PROGRAM PENSIUN TERHADAP KONSUMSI RUMAH TANGGA DI INDONESIA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat dampak keikutsertaan masyarakat pada program pensiun terhadap konsumsi rumah tangga di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan Life cycle hypothesis of consumption sebagai teori dasar pengembangan model penelitian. Penelitian ini menggunakan data survey rumah tangga yang diperoleh dari Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS) gelombang 4 dan lima 5 tahun 2007 dan 2014. Jumlah rumah tangga yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 11.298. Analsis yang dipakai menggunakan metode Difference in Difference (DiD) yang dikombinasikan dengan Propensity Score Matching (PSM). Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa rumah tangga yang mengikuti program pensiun memiliki tingkat konsumsi yang lebih tinggi. Meraka akan merasa lebih baik (better off) dalam konsumsi di masa sekarang, dan lebih aman pada konsumsi ketika mereka pensiun. Pemerintah akan mendapat beban sosial ketika rumah tangga yang tidak ikut program pensiun memasuki masa tua.

This study is aimed at knowing the effect of the societies participation in the retirement program towards the household consumption in Indonesia. This study used the life cycle hypothesis of consumption as a basic theory of the research model development. This study used the household survey data obtained from Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS) batch 4 and 5 of the year 2007 and 2014. The number of household involved in this study is 11,298. The analysis used the method of Difference in Difference (DiD) which was combined with the Propensity Score Matching (PSM). The result of this research suggested that the households that joined the retirement program had a higher level of consumption. They felt better off in consuming in the present, and safer in consuming when they were retired. The government would have a social burden when the households that do not join the retirement program enter their period of retirement.
