MODAL SOSIAL IBU DAN STATUS KESEHATAN ANAK KETIKA DEWASA

Di Indonesia masalah gizi khususnya tingkat stunting terus meningkat, meskipun pemerintah telah berupaya untuk mengatasi masalah gizi balita di Indonesia. Kesehatan anak khususnya pada periode balita merupakan periode ketika tumbuh kembang anak berlangsung secara optimal. Ibu dalam keluarga memiliki peran penting dalam menjaga dan merawat anak. Modal sosial yang dimiliki ibu dapat menyediakan informasi bagi ibu yang berpartisipasi dalam komunitas dan akan memberikan dampak bagi perkembangan anak. Penelitian ini menganalisis hubungan modal sosial ibu dan dampaknya status kesehatan anak ketika dewasa. Mengacu pada fungsi produksi kesehatan analisis diawali dengan pemilihan variabel dan pembentukan model umum pengaruh modal sosial ibu terhadap kualitas hidup anak. Analisis variabel instrumen digunakan untuk mengetahui probabilitas kesehatan anak ketika dewasa yang disebabkan oleh modal sosial ibu dan faktor lainnya. Hasil menunjukkan dengan menganggap variabel lain konstan, efek marjinal modal sosial ibu memiliki dampak yang berbeda pada kesehatan mental dan kesehatan fisik anak ketika dewasa. Hal ini memiliki implikasi dengan perbedaan variabel dependen yang digunakan. Jenis kegiatan yang diikuti ibu memiliki hubungan dengan status kesehatan anak ketika dewasa.

In Indonesia nutritional issue especially stunting level has increased, despite the government of Indonesia has focused on this problem. Child's health, especially during toddler period, unintended consequence may befall such as a decrease of immunity and high risk for the emergence of chronic disease. Mother in a family has an essential role in supporting and nurturing the children. Community may provide information to mother who participate in the community and strongly impact child's development. As an investment, social capital of mother may provide the best treatments for their toddler in early life period and gain the returns in the future. The aim of this study was to analyze the correlation between social capital of mother and its impact on grown child's health status. Referring to the production function of health, the formation of a general model of the child's health production was conducted. Instrumental Variable analysis was employed to determine the probability of child's health due to social capital of mother and other factors. The results showed that by assuming other variables are constant, the marginal effect of social capital of mother has different impact to child's mental and physical health. It has many implications for different outcome. Type of mothers activities have association with health status of grown children.
