THE MODERATING ROLE OF AGE ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PROACTIVE PERSONALITY AND PERCEIVED CAREER DEVELOPMENT FROM TRAINING: A Study of Malaysian Banks Employees in Jakarta

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji peran moderasi oleh umur terhadap hubungan kepribadian proaktif,dengan persepsi pengembangan karir dari pelatihan, studi terhadap karyawan bank Malaysia (terdiri dari PT Maybank Indonesia and PT Bank CIMB Niaga) di Jakarta. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah surve, terkumpul sebanyak 119 responden yang sudah bekerja setidaknya setahun dan pernah mengikuti pelatihan yang diadakan oleh perusahaan-perusahaan tersebut. Analisis regresi sederhana dan analisis regresi termoderasi digunakan pada penelitian ini untuk menguji hipotesis.Hasil dari penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa kepribadian proaktif memiliki hubungan positif terhadap persepsi pengembangan karir dari pelatihan. Namun, pembuktian statistik menunjukan umur tidak memoderasi hubungan kepribadian proaktif dengan persepsi pengembangan karir dari pelatihan.

This study aims to examine the moderating role of age on the relationship between proactive personality and perceived career development from training, study on Malaysian banks (comprised of PT Maybank Indonesia and PT Bank CIMB Niaga) employee in Jakarta. Data collection method used in this study is survey, gathered 119 respondents who at least work in the companies for minimum one year and already participated any training held by the companies. Simple regression analysis and moderated regression analysis were used in this study to test the hypotheses. The result of the study proved there is a significant positive relationship between proactive personality and perceived career development from training. However, statistical result shows that age does not moderate the relationship between proactive personality and perceived career development from training.
