Perpustakaan merupakan pusat sumber informasi dari berbagai macam ilmu pengetahuan yang ada. Setiap pengguna membutuhkan sumber informasi yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan informasi mereka, sehingga perlu diadakan evaluasi secara periodik. Evaluasi ini perlu dilakukan untuk mengetahui apakah perpustakaan sudah menyediakan koleksi yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan mahasiswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat relevansi antara kebutuhan pengguna dengan ketersediaan koleksi perpustakaan FMIPA dan Perpustakaan FEB UGM menurut persepsi mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan survei. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Pengambilan data menggunakan kuesioner. Subjek penelitian mahasiswa semester 6 dan 8 FMIPA dan FEB UGM. Jumlah sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 50 mahasiswa FMIPA dan 50 mahasiswa FEB. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan teknik SPSS. Variabel dalam penelitian ini yaitu kebutuhan pengguna dan ketersediaan koleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis diterima. Hal ini menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang nyata antara kebutuhan pengguna dengan ketersediaan koleksi di perpustakaan FMIPA dan FEB UGM yang berarti hipotesis diterima. Perbedaan ini terjadi disebabkan oleh tiga faktor yaitu dana, jumlah eksemplar koleksi buku yang dibeli dan lama waktu pengiriman buku baru.

Library functions as information center of various type of sciences or knowledge. Every user needs a suitable source of information therefore, it is necessary to conduct periodical evaluations. This evaluation needs to be applied in order to find out whether the library has provided suitable collections for students needs or not. Further, this study aims at determining the level of relevance between the needs of users with the collections availability in the FMIPA library and FEB library based on students perceptions. This research is a quantitative research using survey research approach. The sampling technique used in this research was simple purposive sampling. Population gathered in this research was students in the 6 and 8 semester whi were considered as the most frequent users of library, 50 students were from FMIPA and the other 50 were from FEB. Data analysis was using SPSS. There are two variables in this research, are library users need and collection availability. Based on the results of paired sample t test, it can be understood that the hypothesis is acceptable. It show that there is a significant difference between the needs of users and the availability of collections in the library of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences and the library of the Economics and Business Faculty. This difference occurs due to three factors, such as funds, the number of copies of the book collection purchased and estimated time of book arrival.
