Taman ketetanggaan dapat mengakomodasi aktifitas sosial warga. Dalam mendesain taman lingkungan, studi ini mengikutsertakan warga setempat untuk berdiskusi dan wawancara, sehingga materi desain dapat dikaitkan sesuai dengan kebutuhan warga, tidak hanya berdasarkan persepsi perancang dan teori yang sudah ada. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan paradigm konstruktivis dan hal-hal yang dipertimbangkan dalam perancangan dirangkum dari kombinasi teori place making dan quality criteria for public space menjadi 22 indikator. Tahapan penelitian mengacu pada soft system methodology dimana ada tujuh tahapan, dalam penelitian proses desain didasari pada research through design. Berdasarkan hadil penelitian ini, pembelajaran yang didapatkan, bahwa tidak semua pertimbangan desain dalam teori yang telah dibuat oleh ahli menjadi pertimbangan bagi penduduk setempat. Selain tujuh indikator, ada dua tambahan yaitu kemudahan pengelolaan dan keamanan fasilitas taman menjadi hal yang diperhatikan oleh warga. Indikator-inddikator ini muncul terkait dengan aspek fisiologi, aspek kenyamanan, dan aspek keamanan.

Neighborhood space can accommodate the social activities of the residents. In designing the neighbourhood space, this study was followed by local residents for discussions and interviews, so the design material could be related according to the needs of citizens, not only based on the perception of designers and theories. The research was conducted with constuctivist paradigm and the things considered in the design were summarized from the combination of theory in designing public space ie the theory of place making and quality criteria for public space into 22 indicators. Stages of research refers to the soft system methodology in which there are seven stages, in the stages of research the design process based on the process of research thorugh design. Based on the result of this study, the lesson learn obtained that is not all the design consideration in the theory that has been made by expert are into consideration for local residents too. There are seven indicators that are the main concern in designing for local residents. In additional to seven indicators, there are the ease of management and the security facilities in the park. These indicators appear related to aspects of physiology, comfort aspects, and security aspects.
