The Relationship Between Infrastructure and the Inequality in Indonesia

Pemerintah Indonesia menaruh perhatian pada infrastruktur sebagai cara untuk mengurangi kesenjangan. Skripsi ini dibuat untuk melihat apakah infrastruktur mempunyai hubungan dengan kesenjangan. Skripsi ini menggunakan regresi panel fixed effect dengan subjek penelitian yaitu 33 provinsi di Indonesia dari tahun 2011 sampai 2015. Infrastruktur yang diteliti adalah telekomunikasi, jalan, listirik, dan air. Hal yang ditemukan adalah jenis infrastruktur yang mempunyai pengaruh signifikan terhadap kesenjangan adalah telekomunikasi yang mempunyai hubungan negatif terhadap kesenjangan.

Indonesian government has put the interest of infrastructure as the way to reduce inequality. This thesis is made to see whether the infrastructures have relationship with inequality. This thesis uses the Fixed Effects panel data regression with the subject of 33 regions in Indonesia from 2011 to 2015. The infrastructure that are researched are telecommunication infrastructures, roads, electricity infrastructures, and water infrastructures. It is found that the only type of infrastructure that have significant relationship with the inequality is telecommunication which has negative relationship to inequality.
