Praktik Filantropi Islam: Studi di Komunitas Muhammadiyah Kotagede Yogyakarta

Kemiskinan menjadi persoalan penting untuk dipecahkan. Selama ini pemerintah telah berusaha melalui kebijakan paket bantuan sosialnya. Namun, diluar itu muncul inisiatif dari masyarakat melalu tradisi derma banyak dilakukan oleh kelompok atau individu. Praktik derma membentuk kekuatan kolektif yang mengeratkan jaringan dan solidaritas sosial. Kedermawanan atau filantropi merepresentasikan kecintaan manusia terhadap sesamanya yang diejawantahkan dalam bentuk memberi sesuatu baik materi maupun non materi kepada orang lain. Penelitian ini dimulai pada Desember 2017 hingga Juni 2018 yang dilakukan di Kotagede. Studi ini akan memfokuskan pada peran lembaga sosial Muhammadiyah dalam mengaktualisasikan nilai cinta, kasih dan filantropi islam melalui beragam bentuk. Muhammadiyah sebagai salah satu organisasi muslim yang memiliki kepedulian khusus terhadap kehidupan kaum duhafa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali dinamika filantropi islam oleh Muhammadiyah Kotagede melalui pengajuan pertanyaan penelitian pertama bagaimana bentuk praktik filantropi Islam yang telah berkembang di Kotagede. Kedua bagaimana peranan komunitas Muhammadiyah di Kotagede tersebut. Hasil studi penelitian ini menunjukkan dinamika pola filantropi islam yang dikelola oleh Muhammadiyah Kotagede sekaligus mengalami perkembangan dari model amal usaha yang merupakan warisan masal lalu, kini dilengkapi dengan varian pelayanan program karitatif dan pemberdayaan. Pada dasarnya varian pola tersebut bersifat saling melengkapi. Analisa Aafke Komter digunakan untuk manganalisis perkembangan motif komunitas dalam praktik filantropi islam, dalam perjalanannya menunjukkan sentimen ke arah community sharing. Begitu juga kultur kerelawanan yang menghasilkan wujud pendorong kemandirian umat, mediator penderma dan penerima, fasilitator dan keteladanan.

Poverty has become an important issue to solve. So far the government has tried to solve the issue through social-assistance-package policy. But beyond that comes the initiative of the community through the tradition of charity conducted by both groups and individuals. The practice of charity forms a collective force which solidify the network and social solidarity. Charity or philanthropy representing human love for each other embodied ehich is manifested in the form of giving something both material and non-material to others. This study begins on December 2017 until June 2018 which is conducted in Kotagede.this study focuses on the role of social institutions,Muhammadiyah, in actualizing the value of love and philanthropy of Islam through various forms. Muhammadiyah as one of moeslem organization which has special concern for the life of the dhuafa. This study aims to explore the dynamics of philanthropy of Islam by Muhammadiyah Kotagede through the first research question of what and how forms of philanthropy of Muhammadiyah has develpoded in Kotagede. Second, capturing motives and roles of the institutions. The results of this study show the dynamics of the pattern of Islamic philanthropy organized by Muhammadiyah Kotagede as well as the development of the business charity model that is a mass inheritance then is now equipped with variants of service programs and the empowerment. Basically the variant of the pattern is complementary. Aafke Komter's analysis is used to analyze the development of community motives in the practice of Islamic philanthropy, it is progress showing sentiments towards community sharing. So is the culture of volunteerism that produces a form supporter dor umat independe, donator and recipient mediator, facilitator, and model.
