Berdasarkan hasil sensus ternak tahun 2011, populasi sapi perah di Kabupaten Sleman mencapai lebih dari 3500 ekor, sehingga Kabupaten Sleman perlu mendapat perhatian lebih terkait produktivitas dan kesehatan ternak. Salah satu masalah yang dihadapi peternak sapi perah saat ini adalah endometritis. Endometritis adalah peradangan pada lapisan endometrium uterus akibat infeksi bakteri selama partus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas terapi tunggal dan terapi kombinasi terhadap sapi Peranakan Friesien Holstein yang mengalami endometritis. Penelitian ini menggunakan delapan belas ekor sapi PFH yang mengalami endometritis. Delapan ekor sapi PFH kelompok I diterapi dengan Prostaglandin F2Alfa secara intramuskular dengan dosis 25mg/sapi dan sepuluh ekor sapi PFH kelompok II diterapi dengan Prostaglandin F2Alfa secara intramuskular dengan dosis 25mg/sapi dan Iodine povidone 1% yang diinfusi ke dalam uterus sebanyak 50ml. Sapi PFH yang telah diterapi diamati hingga timbul estrus post partum. Data yang didapatkan lalu dianalisa secara statiska dengan uji normalitas dan uji t non parametrik (Chi Square). Hasil pengamatan estrus post partum kelompok I dan II berturut-turut 87±25 hari dan 79±25 hari dan hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok I dan II (X kuadarat <3,84).

Based on the result of livestock census in 2011, the population of dairy cattle in Sleman District reaches more than 3500 cows, so that Sleman regency needs to get more attention related to livestock productivity and health. One of the problems that dairy farmer facing today is endometritis. Endometritis is an inflammation of the uterine endometrium due to bacterial infection during partus. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of single therapy and combination therapy to Peranakan Friesien Holstein cows with endometritis. The study used eighteen PFH cows that infected with endometritis. Eight PFH cows group I were treated with Prostaglandin F2Alfa intramuscularly with dose 25mg / cow and ten PFH cows group II were treated with Prostaglandin F2Alfa intramuscularly with dose 25mg / cow and Povidone iodine 1% 50ml were infused into the uterus. The treated PFH cattle were observed until estrus post partum had occured. The data obtained were then analyzed statistically with normality test and non parametric t test (Chi Square). The results of observation of group I and II estrus post partum respectively were 87±25 days and 79±25 days and the result of statistical analysis showed no significant difference between group I and II (X square <3.84).
