Pengaruh Penggunaan Gigi Tiruan Sebagian Lepasan Resin Akrilik Rahang Atas Anterior terhadap Pengucapan Bunyi 'S'

Perubahan yang terjadi di rongga mulut akibat hilangnya gigi dapat menyebabkan beberapa kecacatan pada suara dan cara bicara seseorang. Hilangnya gigi anterior atas dapat menyebabkan pengucapan huruf-huruf tertentu khususnya huruf 's' menjadi tidak jelas. Penggantian gigi anterior atas akan memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap kualitas bicara. Gigi tiruan sebagian lepasan resin akrilik rahang atas anterior berfungsi untuk mengeliminasi cacat bicara, menunjang estetika dan meningkatkan fungsi mastikasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan gigi tiruan sebagian lepasan resin akrilik rahang atas anterior terhadap pengucapan bunyi 's'. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 20 orang perempuan yang menggunakan gigi tiruan sebagian lepasan anterior rahang atas resin akrilik. Perekaman dilakukan dua kali saat pasien tidak menggunakan dan saat menggunakan gigi tiruannya. Subjek diinstruksikan untuk mengucapkan 's' sebanyak tiga kali. File audio kemudian dimasukkan ke aplikasi cool edit pro untuk mengetahui nilai frekuensi (Hz) dan amplitudo (dB) suara 's' subjek. Hasil perekaman dianalisis dengan uji dependent t- test untuk mengetahui peningkatan nilai frekuensi (Hz) dan amplitudo (dB). Hasil uji dependent t-test tidak menunjukkan peningkatan nilai frekuensi (t_hitung< t_tabel) dan menunjukan peningkatan pada nilai amplitudo (t_hitung> t_tabel). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terjadi peningkatan pada nilai amplitudo (dB) sesudah menggunakan gigi tiruan sebagian lepasan resin akrilik rahang atas anterior, namun tidak terjadi peningkatan pada nilai frekuensinya (Hz).

Changes in the oral cavity resulting from the loss of teeth may cause defects in someone's voice and speech. The loss of maxillary anterior teeth may prevent the clear reproduction of certain sounds, particularly the 's'. The replacement of missing maxillary anterior teeth will make a significant contribution to the quality of speech. The function of removable partial denture of maxillary anterior acrylic resins, besides having aesthetic improvement and masticatory functions, is to eliminate the speech defects. The aim of this study was to examine influence of removable partial denture of maxillary anterior acrylic resins wearing to the sound 's'. The study was performed on 20 subjects with removable partial dentures. All subjects were recorded twice, before and after wearing the denture. Subjects were invited to pronounce 's' three times. Recordings were analyzed with cool edit pro to determine the frequency (Hz) for each examined sound and it's amplitude (dB). Records were statistically analyzed with dependent t-test. The pronounciation of the examined sounds was not increased in frequency (Hz) (calculated t-value<t-table) and in contrast, it was increased in amplitude (dB) (calculated t-value>t-table). The conclusion of this study was, wearing removable partial denture of maxillary anterior acrylic resins would make a contribution to the quality of speech by increasing the number of amplitude (dB) without being followed by the number of frequency (Hz).
