PRESERVASI DOKUMEN ASET SEBAGAI UPAYA OPTIMALISASI BISNIS PT KERETA API INDONESIA (PERSERO)

Tugas akhir ini membahas tentang kegiatan preservasi dokumen aset sebagai bagian dari arsip yang dimiliki PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero). Dokumen aset PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) termasuk kedalam arsip vital yang memiliki peran penting dalam bisnis perusahaan. Untuk itu perusahaan mengadakan kegiatan preservasi dokumen aset untuk menjamin keaamanan dan ketersediaan informasi terkait aset perusahaan. Nantinya dokumen aset dapat digunakan untuk mengoptimalkan aktivitas bisnis PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) dalam bidang pengusahaan aset. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan penulis dalam menyusun laporan tugas akhir adalah dengan cara observasi partisipasif, wawancara dan studi pustaka. Observasi partisipasif dilakukan dengan ikut serta secara langsung dalam kegiatan preservasi dokumen aset. Wawancara dilaksanakan dengan melakukan penggalian informasi terhadap arsiparis. Pada studi pustaka dilakukan pengumpulan data melalui buku, jurnal, websitedan lain sebagainya. Pada umumnya kegiatan preservasi arsip di PT Kereta Api Indonesia telah berjalan dengan baik akan tetapi perusahaan memiliki tantangan tersendiri dalam melakukan kegiatan restorasi dikarenakan variasi jenis arsip dan medianya. Media arsip yang ada di PT Kereta Api Indonesia adalah kertas karton, blueprint dan kalkir. Masing-masing media memiliki karakteristik yang berbeda sehingga penggunaan metode restorasi standar tidak dapat diterapkan pada semua media. Untuk itu PT Kereta Api Indonesia melaksanakan penelitian terkait penentuan metode restorasi menyesuaikan jenis arsip dan medianya.

This final report discuss about the preservation of asset documents as part of documents owned by PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero). Asset documents can be considered as vital record which has important role in company bussiness. Therefore, the company conducted the preservation of asset documents to ensure the security and the avilailability of company’s asset information. Eventually, it can be use to optimize the bussiness of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) in field of asset bussiness. This final report uses participation observation, interviews, and literature. Participation observation is done by participating directly in the preservation of asset documents. Interviews is done by looking for the information to related staffs in the company. Lastly, literature reviews is done by collecting data from books, journals, websites and any other related sources. In general, the preservation of asset documents at PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has been conducted decently. However, the company has several challenges to conduct restoration because of the variation of the media and types of the papers. There are several media at PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) such as cardboard, blueprint, and tracing paper. They have different characteristics so it is not possible to apply the standard restoration method on those media. Therefore, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) conduct a research to determine the most appropriate restoration method based on the type and media of the papers.
