Penulisan Tugas Akhir ini merupakan hasil pengumpulan data dari Praktik Kerja Lapangan yang dilaksanakan di Kantor Perpustakaan, Arsip, dan Dokumentasi Kota Magelang. Tugas Akhir ini mempunyai tujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran tentang arsip foto dan untuk mengkaji secara khusus prosedur pengolahan arsip foto. Ruang lingkup permasalahannya antara lain bagaimana pengolahan arsip foto, sarana yang digunakan, dan kendala apa saja yang dihadapi saat pengolahan arsip foto. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian, diantaranya melalui Studi Pustaka, Observasi Partisipatif, dan Wawancara. Wawancara dilakukan dengan Tanya jawab terhadap arsiparis di instansi tersebut. Observasi partisipatif dilakukan dengan ikut berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan pengolahan arsip foto. Studi pustaka dilakukan dengan penelusuran referensi yang relevan dengan tema. Kesimpulan dari kajian ini yaitu arsip foto di Kantor Perpustakaan, Arsip dan Dokumentasi Kota Magelang diolah melalui tahapan seleksi, deskripsi, penentuan skema, maneuver dan pembuatan daftar arsip. Kendala yang ditemukan yaitu minimnya pengetahuan tentang arsip foto, membuat pengolahan belum sesuai prosedur dalam ilmu kearsipan.

This Final Project is the result of data collection from the Field Work Practices conducted at Kantor Perpustakaan, Arsip, dan Dokumentasi Kota Magelang. This Final Project has a purpose to know the picture of photo archive and to review specially procedure of photo archive processing. The scope of the problem, among others, is how to process the photo archive, the means used, and any constraints faced when processing the photo archive. The methods used in the study are Study Library, Participatory Observation, and Interview. The interview was conducted by interview to the archivist at the office. Participatory observation has been done by participating in photo archive processing activities. The literature study was conducted by searching references that are relevant to the theme. The conclusions of this study is that photo archives in Kantor Perpustakaan, Arsip, dan Dokumentasi Kota Magelang has been processed by selection, description, classification, maneuver and creating finding aids. Obstacles that were found are the lack of knowledge about the archive photos, making the processing is not appropriate procedures in archival science.
