PROSES PEMBUATAN SEMEN BEKU PADA SAPI LIMOUSIN DI BALAI INSEMINASI BUATAN (BIB) UNGARAN TAHUN 2018

Pemerintah hingga saat ini masih memerlukan impor daging untuk memenuhi kebutuhan konsumsi daging di Indonesia. Salah satu program pemerintah supaya daging terpenuhi dapat ditempuh dengan swasembada daging dan peningkatan aplikasi teknologi reproduksi inseminasi buatan. Pemerintah membangun balai inseminasi buatan untuk mendukung program inseminasi buatan khususnya wilayah Jawa Tengah. Tujuan penulisan Tugas Akhir ini adalah untuk mengetahui proses pembuatan semen beku pada sapi Limousin di Balai Inseminasi Buatan Ungaran. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada tanggal 5-17 Februari 2018. Proses pembuatan semen beku meliputi: penampungan semen, pemeriksaan makroskopis dan mikroskopis, penambahan pengencer, printing straw, pendinginan atau ekuilibrasi, filling dan sealing, pre-freezing, freezing, penyimpanan, thawing, post thawing motility,dan distribusi semen beku. Proses ini sudah sesuai dengan petunjuk teknis yang ditetapkan oleh Direktur Jendral Peternakan dengan nomor 12207/HK.060/F/12/2007

The government until today still needs imported meat to consumption needs of meat in indonesia. One of the government programs is to fulfill the meat can be taken with self-sufficiency in meat and the increased application of reproductive technology such as artificial insemination. The government built artificial insemination centre to support the artificial insemination program sepecially in Central Java. The purpose of this article is to investigate the process of frozen semen production in Balai Inseminasi Buatan Ungaran (artificial insemination center). The collection of data was in February 5 until 17, 2018. The process of making frozen semen include:semen collection, examination of macroscopic and microscopic, the addition of thinners, printing straw, cooling or equilibration, filling and sealing, pre-freezing, freezing, storage, thawing, post-thawing motility,and distribution of frozen semen. The process has been in accordance with the the technical instructions established by the director general of animal husbandry Ministry of Agriculture, Republic of Indonesia with number 12207/HK.060/F/12/2007.
